I feel like an idiot now because I bought that bundle just two weeks ago.

Then again, the discount's probably only in the US and Canada anyway.
I'm 95% sure it was worldwide but I wouldn't doubt it

Race is a playlist until December 21st.

Not as awesome as Rocket Race or OG Halo Race, but Mongoose Kart is pretty fun.

Psh, Halo 3 didn't appear on the Xbox 360 until nearly two years after the console release. Not sure why people would miss it this time.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Let's be honest, does anyone here even care anymore? Even if anyone wants the game I have my serious doubts as to whether it'll ever be worth buying an Xbone for.

I'll stick with the older games, thank you very much. I still have a bitter aftertaste after Halo 4.

My stepfather intends to get one, but until he does get it, I ain't touchin' it. I've already resolved not to buy the console itself, but I still want to play Sunset Overdrive, dammit.

Aside from that, there's nothing coming out for it (that I actually want to play) that isn't also coming out on the PS4.

Also, whether the console is worth it or not is up to you. It's your opinion, and one that I bet will likely change over the years in some ways (even if you never pick up the console in the end). But I must ask, who buys a console at the beginning of its lifespan with the intent of playing one game (series)? Nobody because there's likely to be something else that grabs their interest, and if not then that's just a bad investment for them.

You know, it IS okay to change your mind. :P

Also, I laughed harder than I really should've at BL's post. XD But yeah, I'm pretty sure we've seen just how terrible 343 is at making Halo games, with both of their previous attempts. Seriously, when you can't even take a 10 year old game and port/remake it properly, then you suck at making videogames.

What was RIGHT with Halo Anniversary? It was a glorified decade old port with a graphical makeover that only changed the way the game looked and not how it worked. Sure, everything looks pretty, but everything still moves with stiff, clunky animations and there's even issues such as lip synching, because they essentially just built this makeover on top of the original game. And that's the issue; you're still playing a 10 year old game, complete with all the glitches and bugs it had from back then as well. They didn't bother rebalancing or fixing anything and the game was already a mess when it first came out, with terrible level design and godawful pacing. They kept the overpowered magnum, along with floaty Warthog controls/physics. Quitting a mission after hitting a checkpoint forces you to restart the whole level. The infamous night sniping mission doesn't even feel like it's at night because it's so bright and we're dealing with the same stupid AI we've had to endure the entire franchise, both with enemies and allies. Also, I'm pretty sure they made the game MUCH easier than it originally was.

The entire point of bringing such an old game into a modern time is to take that time to examine everything about this game and try to fix/improve on it. You had ten years to look at exactly what made Halo tick and what could be done to make the experience more wholesome. Instead, they just took the original game, completely as is, and slapped a new coat of paint on it then sold it off to retail as a completely new experience. Don't tell me this is exactly what the fans wanted, because I'm pretty sure the fans already own a copy of the original Halo, probably one of the PC port as well, just to be safe. As far as I'm aware, the people most disappointed with the game are fans, as they expected 343 to do something with the game. They couldn't handle improving a currently existing product, and they absolutely failed to deliver on a sequel.

Honestly, they'll only end up delivering the same level of mediocrity with the next entry in the franchise. Bungie weren't that much better, but at least they had the decency to give players a proper experience, whether it was single or multiplayer. They always found new ways to add to the game, to add layers of complexity, regardless of relevance or necessity, that just made you stop and appreciate that. I pretty much believe that both Halo games after 3 (except Wars, that shit needs a sequel, preferably on the PC) had been completely pointless, but I would never say that they were bad games, as each had something really great to bring to the table. ODST's singleplayer campaign was a really great experience and the aesthetic and design of the areas makes me really want another game to use that as its template. Reach had awesome multiplayer, though they detracted a lot from what made Halo 3 fun, it still added a whole lot more to make it interesting.

I really want to believe Halo 5 will be a good game, but it's just incredibly difficult for me to do so with the way 343 handles their product. Nobody liked Halo Anniversary and nobody liked Halo 4. I doubt they'll provide anything new other than pretty graphics and maybe some plot that'll still feel weak in comparison to stuff the books and comics have been able to do a better job of delivering.

What was wrong with Halo Anniversary?
To be simple: A lot. Lets hope if Halo 2 Anniversary actually happens that they will not use Halo Reach multiplayer for it. While some (in reality, very few) like it, can you say it feels like Halo CE? Feels like Reach with some old maps, that's it. The game didn't look bad graphically (343i is actually really good with their visuals I'll admit) but gameplay-wise it suffered.

What should they do for Halo 2 Anniversary? Easy. Give us a similar (if not the same) engine for Halo 2. What? But that's about a decade old and has problems?! BXR isn't something I ever hated and honestly, for any Halo fan wanting to see the game played competitively get this into your head: BXR was what made competitive playing fun!!! Yes, very hard to grasp for some people but the game itself would've (or will) been destroyed if they tried to take it out (even now the feel would be ruined most likely). Super jumping was fixed in the PC versions of the game apparently so that shouldn't worry anybody. Halo 2 Anniversary is something that if real, 343i (or Saber Int and Certain Affinity if involved) will have to try to fuck it up. The fans want a similar if not almost the same game (just visually improved upon) as Halo 2, and that's all that's needed really for those who have played the original (on XBL especially). No sprinting or jet-packs.

Halo 5 will likely be an improvement compared to Halo 4 so long as they take their time on it and don't rush it. Do I believe it'll be good? Doubt it'll be better than the older games but we'll see.

Okay, I do understand the frustrations here with this. The game had its shares of problems coming out, but at the same time, I do feel that 343 gets a lot of flak for having to not only bring a system into "modern" gaming that had its own flaws without trading away a bunch of the reasons people liked Halo in the first place. I mean, I love the shit out of Red and Blue, but they are glitchy and buggy and horribly anti-cosmetic for their time, but in Fire Red and Leaf Green, it was the SAME game with a paint job, and it did great. So, I always think it's a hit and miss.

:)

And while I agree with the notion to take something and make it better. The presentation and hype were there, but the game did fall on short expectations. But at the same time, it felt "Like Halo CE", at least as far as campaign. So yeah, not much arguing there.

Now, Halo 4 was an amazing sequel as far as visually and story. But to each their own I guess.

I feel that the character development in Halo 4 was great, and although by comparison Halo Wars was fun and needs a sequel, the plot holes were horrid. Horrid I tell 'ye.
