Hi Everyone.

With several metres of snow now here in Switzerland I decided to upgrade my Blizzard.
I have just fitted an Xcelorin 10 7500Kv brushless motor and sc running on 11.1v 3s LiPo 3700Mah batteries.
It really flies :excited:

I have also changed the radio to 2.4ghz but I have more work to do on this as the siting and type of receiver seems to be critical to range.
I understand that there have been problems with 2.4 in boats due to the reflective nature of the water and maybe this also includes snow.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I am curious to the choice of kv and voltage, your motor should be doing about 75000 rpms at wot, is the motor really capable of doing that without heat issues ?
What gearing are you using ?

There was nothing scientific about the choice of motor, it was recommended by a friend who knows more than I do so I can't really say more. The gearing is (at the moment) standard.
It seems to work very well but if anyone has any advice it would be welcome.

Heat hasn't been an issue, yet, but it hasn't run above minus 8c. The esc does have a fan so I guess it should keep cool when it's not so cold.

The upgrades really are worthwhile, especially when you see it plowing through deep powder snow at high speed.

If anyone has any ideas for improvement, please let me know.

Yeah, it's great fun. Can't beat it,just have to be careful with the brushless motor in powder snow as it has a tendency to dig itself in if you are to heavy with the throttle.

I would be interested to know how that "novak" setup goes....... I am running a 5700kv brushless with a sidewinder esc on 3000 7.2 stick packs - gonna move up to 3600 mAh and see if that makes any diff - after that, it's work on gearing time............. it moves, but

---------------> I NEED MORE SPEED <----------------- ( hahaha ) - -

( also thinking about ball bearing sets )

up above there was a 2.4 range question - I am running a DX3.0 2.4, and have no range issues yet - I understand that it is best to turn on the Tx a few seconds before the Rx so that it can scan for clear signals ( I don't know this for a fact ) ...
