Thanks, I just picked up the weather stripping and some wire holders, now I need to finish situating the ESC bracket and determine if I can use a single switch for turning on the ESC and fan. |

Does anyone have experience with the German Lehner Motoren?, specifically the 1525 series?. I got the Mamba Max mainly for the ESC, but the Chinese motor will eventually be removed. It seems that the Germans have a rather nice selection of high-end brushless motors.

OK, I think I can squeeze a 72T spur in, and with a 25T pinion, that will be a 14.53:1 final drive ratio, should be good to start with. Only a few more small odds and ends to finish and it will be time to take it for a test "scream". |

Thanks guys. Outcast- the backyard is knee-deep powder right now, but do you think I ought to do the first tests in a large freshly plowed empty parking lot instead?. It would be a bummer to have a track fly off in that deep stuff.

Thanks, it's a Robinson Racing Products 1672 TC3 Ultra 48p 72T, UPC is (7 19696 01672 0). It did fit perfectly and seems to have no tight spots. |

I got the plexiglass lid finished and installed weather-stripping. Also fitted wire holder clips and now all that's left is hooking up the fan and ESC switches and working out how I want to mount the body.

Nothing left to do now, other than mount the air-filter, attatch some velcro for the hull covers, and charge the batteries!. |

Thanks guys, I'm really rushing to get all the odds and ends finished up so I can open the throttle all the way up on the lake. I may end up gearing all the way to 33/72 when it's all said and done. |

Last night I used the foam inserts that came with the Mamba Max to hold things together. The van body has now got a clip-latch system that holds tightly when you push down the body, it compresses the foam against the tupperware battery box and also secures the top plate seal. Also got 95% of the air-filter setup done, I used foam tubing and another chunk from the Mamba packaging. |

I tested the ESC and motor last night.......HOLY COW!!!, that thing is loud and powerful!. I left the pinion off for testing and setup/programming, but put it on afterwards. Thing sounded like an arcade game when I hit the on button, very cool. There is now maybe 25-30 minutes of work left and it's ready for snow. |

Thank you, I actually don't plan to leave it this way for more than the rest of this winter. Next summer, when I build a Nodwell body, it will get custom made battery and air boxes. Also plan on reworking the drive sprockets to include bearings. |

Well, it ran great even though it may never need higher gearing. Way fast like trying to steer a rocket!, very fun. It will wheelie without effort, but also wants to endo if you make sudden throttle movements. No snow ever got in and although the battery got quite warm, the innards stayed cool. I'm still trying to upload a tiny digicam clip, no luck so far. |
