Hi all, a newbie here. I just purchased an old Blizzard DX (orange wheels) with treads in need of replacement. Does any of the new Blizzard tracks (BL-10) fit the old DX? I'm sure there's probably not any of the old tracks to be found. Kyosho customer service sure wasn't of any help. I also got a plow with mine that I'll probably be getting rid of. The reason I bought the old Blizzard is that I want to convert it to the Chariot from the old TV series "Lost in Space". After looking at some of the pics of other's Blizzards on this and other sites, I think I'll need to get another new one just to play with--now that I have snow on the ground. Thanks, any advice would be appreciated. |

I'm almost certain the new tracks are the correct width.. not sure if they're the correct length though. hopefully one of our forum's DX owners can comment. But I do know you'll have a really hard time finding the old DX tracks. |

Thanks on the comeback! I ordered a couple of the new tracks. They look quite different from the older ones, but I'll try to get use to them. The old ones I have small cracks in them but no complete tears. Now to start cleaning up the rest of the Blizzard. It looks like's it set around for quite some time. |

I prefer the every-cleats, but would kill for a metal-&-&fabric/composite track like the real ones. Machined or cast cleats on a belt from used treadmill belting would be the logicval idea (idea from the 1/6 paintball tankers) EC - WOW... I'm sorry WhiteWolf! I accidentally clicked edit instead of quoting you.

Sorry WhiteWolf I must really be out of it today. I clicked edit instead of quote on accident and didn't even realize.
We should get Toy to make some metal cleats. Would be in large quantities too.. 52 cleats per side, 104 cleats per blizzard. |

S,ok EC, as the Predator says" Sh*it 'appens " ! I asked the world-famous trackmaker Kenny Kong abnout this, and to get him to even consider this, he'd need a prototype of what we want, and 100 prepaid orders. Estimated over $200 a pop, but if someone fronted that, and put a whack on eBay, I suspect they'd sell like hotcakes. To be honest though, i think machining from angle stock would be easier/cheaper than casting in nickel-silver (what Kenny uses, not the softer pewter some use) That said, I think the hardest part, and the one I puzzled over myself for self-making them from simple aluminum angle stock and bel;ting is how to close the fabric belt securely without stiffening it. Gluing is possible, but would have to be at a cleat where the belt is already stiff... a left/right tab+tab would be ok, as a attachment fastener from the cleat could go into each end. I can sketch up my idea, if anyone wants a visual reference. WhiteWolf |

Talk about luck....I ordered some of the newer BL10B tracks, and they fit ok. But since I'm converting this old DX to the"Lost in Space" Chariot, they did not look as good for the application as the older ones. Well, about a week ago, I won two mint sets of the old TB1 tracks for very little on ebay. I was stunned there was only one other bid. I'm in heaven. Now I have tracks coming out of my ears
Now to clean the DX up and start making the fiberglass cab.... Thanks all! |

boba: Got pics of these? I ask as often designations get confused, and items are often re-bagged (seen it happen, and accidentially done it myself a time or three) I ask as I might be interested in any tracks you have that you do not intend to use. Let me know if you cannot post images, can provide e-mail addredd for image transmission. |

Here is a pic comparing the new tracks to the TB1s I got: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rlaucutt/det...re2.jpg&.src=ph And here is another shot of the TB1 tracks. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rlaucutt/det...re2.jpg&.src=ph And for those whom do not know what the LIS Chariot looks like, here is a screen grab. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rlaucutt/det...re2.jpg&.src=ph I have not decided yet what to do with the extra tracks and a snow plow I will not need. I'll let you know. Thanks, Bob |
