am I just day dreaming?
I have thought about a project like this for a while. I used to be into the Japanese anime, Gundams. And always thought about a RC one. Well, there is one call the Guntank; which is basically a robot with tank treads. Here is a picture of it: ![]() Bandai did release an RC version of this model several years ago, but I was unable to locate one after many searches. So I decide to do some research on making my own. What I want to do is build one in RC. I first thought about using the gearboxes and wheels from the Henglongs. But that seem too difficult to make a perfect chassis for it with suspension and stuff(although it would be really cool). The Henglong route will also bring me to scratch build the body too since model kits of this model don't come in many sizes(I think biggest is 1/144). So I was looking around and found this project a while ago on another forum. It is a scratch built tank from Tamiya parts. This would probably allow me to use the bits from a model kit of the Guntank along with the parts in the Tamiya construction kits to build a RC version. http://ripper7racing.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=3569 ![]() What do you guys think? ![]() |

Interesting idea. I would think maybe your best best would be to pillage a 1/35 or smaller rc tank. You can get pretty darn small so you should be able to find something that would fit. A HL version would be cool, but I think your right in that its way too big to use with current models... |
