I found this today, had to buy it. It's a push toy although it does have motor sounds and horn. It's a bit smaller then a Blizzard, but not by a lot.

I found it in Zellers. Never seen one before myself. You can sure tell it was based off the Blizzard by the wheels. Theres a panel under the sprocket that unbolts. I plan on opening it up to see whats hiding in there. This might be a toy that was going to be motored... Will find out later and post what I see...

Well blow me away! :shok: It WAS RC'd... Here you can see the housing that holds the gears...

And heres the obvious antenna holder. With a hole that heads into the body.

Heres the comparo to the Blizzard:

Now my brain is starting to churn over this. I have a thought I have seen this before... Just can't remember where... The hunt is on!

I managed to zoom in on one of the pics and make out the words "snow king" A quick search of the internet and I found it. I have a gutted Dickie Snow King!!! Sitting in a Canadian Zellers of all places.

http://www.monkeytoys.de/dickie-snow-king-...rot-p-1135.html

I double checked the box and its a remake of the Dickie RC box. There is no Dickie label written on it but the pictures on the box have a "Dickie" decal on it. There is nothing on the snowcat itself written anywhere....

Is this cool or what! :nice:

It wasn't 'R/C' per se, man: I'm watching & planning on getting one off Ebay in a few days (READ: If one o'you guys here bids on it, you'll be on my BAD side!) It has a Wire-type remote operation, and is indeed made by Dickie/Spielzug. But I'll probably pay more than I need to since it has 'Remote' stuff I'll just gut anyways! These are kinda neat, I've been looking for this for a while! Let's see what you do with it bud! Chris

Upon perusing your info Outcast, it becomes apparent that this was made full R/C, cable-operated, AND as a push toy, Sheesh! Well, now I want the already-R/C version, too! :drool2: :nice: :vibrate:  :yahoo:
It'd be easier to mod than build from scratch & I have enough projects, but ? I already have the R/C Dickie Snow Unimog with functional winch & plow  They'd make a swell set. It irritates me that there are so many cool things we can't easily get here...Or there...Chris

I don't really see how I can make mine rc'd. It's pretty obvious that the gear configuration is something that I would have a lot of trouble trying to piece together.

Its just found a place on my shelf in my hobby room. I am happy if it stays there... Now if I can find a cheap RC version of it one day I will grab it. But until then this one can just look pretty...

O.K., slightly less jealous now: Scored this beastie as planned yesterday for $41 total:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...42150&rd=1&rd=1

It runs, albeit with a cable, but this must mean the drivetrain, plow 'Servo', etc. is already there so it should make a better R/C candidate than the pushtoy. I'm cheesed either way!! :vibrate: I'll keep y'all posted! Chris
