I got mine less then 24 hours ago from mato toys and the thing already died. THe lights flash, then I fire it up and nothing. I drove it all of ten feet. Turned it off, pulled the battery, turned off the smoke and now it allows me to fire it up, but does nothing else. :( Damn it!

Hopefully they get me a solution soon.

Check the wiring. When I took my pershing apart one of the wires came off the board a little too easy. Makes you wonder what they use for solder.

So Mato is sending out new stuff to fix the tank, but I am highly irritated with this whole situation, so I am taking matters into my own hands. First, on ebay you can pick up tamiya ESCs for about $20 each. So I am getting 2 of these. They are forward reverse. Next, I am going to connect the turret rotation to a standard msc, just to handle the left and right movement. The Up/down action can be accomplished using a micro switch, servo, and zener diode. The same is true with the same is true with the firing mechanism. I am going to just wire it to a 6 channel radio and call it good. The pershing does appear to have a great chassis, I just wish that I would have said "forget the electrics, just send the chassis." But what can you do. More pics when the ESCs get here.

I will have to get you all some pics of the guts of the tank, but I did do the tamiya conversion. I have 2 of the TEU speed controllers for the drive motors and then I used some beefy servo boards to control the turret up/down, left/right, and fire mechanism. The entire build was fairly straight forward and now this thing runs as good as my old tamiya. I need a few more mods:

1. I need to install an LED in the bb tank so that I can fire the glow in the dark bbs and have them glow

2. I picked up a high power laser pointer for $7 the I am going to wire into the firing circuit so that I can aim a little better.
