Well, my Tamiya Tiger will arrive shortly, and I wanted know if there are any more powerful motor options out there. There are lathe motors in 540 size. Are there any for the 380 motors? I'm looking for more power than stock. I know the Leopard has 540 running gear, and 380 just doesn't impress me. I'm not looking for low-turn go fast motors, but something like lathe or the eaquivalent of Mag Mayhem motors. I want serious climbing power. I've seen the gear reductions, but they ain't cheap

there should be plenty certainly if you allow 400 size motors too. 380 and 400's seem popular for electric flight, and these smaller motors are more popular now cuz of the mini RC craze... your best bet might be a good high torque mini RC upgrade motor, I just cant name a good one cuz I havent been paying attention to mini RC's...

I assume so. this is because I have a 380 and no 400's but like the 540's 550's 560's and 600's mount the same I assume mabuchi does the same between 380's and 400's....

For more torque, you want a longer can. Try using 400 or 480 motors, if you have room and the mounting holes will line up (or you're willing to do some drilling). Going from a 380 to a 480 will give you a nice bump in power, without too much extra speed. |
Dremelit is one of the few men I'm actually afraid of! His brain works at 4 times the speed of you or me, he actually tries to make his many ideas come to fruition, and has NO idea what an obstacle is: He has balls that clank, and one hand was lost in an accident, so he had a Dremel grafted on-It even has an attachment that lets him hold ANOTHER DREMEL! Whenever this guy is stimulated, take my advice & run for the hills!

Hello, 480's have the same mounting holes as 380 and will have the perfomance your looking for you will still be able to move even with one hit left (if you use the TBU) Top speed is a dead on smph with my pershing. be careful pulling and pressing the pinion.
