As soon as the box arrived I quickly forgot about sleeping And hidden under the outer box! I must say these are well packaged. Boxes look great, and everything was packed well. I was a bit worried at the obvious dent in the Pershing box. Hopefully everything survived inside. After removing the tank I realised it didn't survive the fall. There are 2 parts broken. Ones easily fixed but I need to figure out where the black part goes. Everything else looks good from observation. Beatiful tank! Next item is to get that battery charged and try it out. |

Well gave the tanks a quick run to check them out... The Pershing: Put the batts in and turned it on. The headlight started flashing and it just sat there doing nothing. I hit the start button and away it fired, caught, and settled into a throaty roar. I moved out into my living room. Tried to shoot at my tragets but nothing fired, even tho it tries to. I then recal that the tiger took way more pellets then the pershing did so I am wondering if the pellets are getting down into the gun. Something I will have to check out as soon as the kids are asleep. Quick things to note: The sound is great! It may not be Tamiya standard but its quite good. You even have volume control. Speed of the Super units seems good, not too fast and at least theres no issue going slow. The 10 step escs are good enough to feel seemless. Not problems there The smoke units are loud and stinky, not something I'd want to run indoors. Will have to test later... They sure look sharp, to a tanker novice like me they are gorgeous! All they need is some weathering... I was worried about the tank kickback when its fired. I thought it looked dumb in the videos and wasn't looking forward to trying to disable it. I never should have worried, that feature is activated by a button. So I just don't use it and I'll be happy! Overall I am super impressed by what you get for this cheap! I'll have to finish my testing (and playing) later when the kids are asleep... |

Well I have good news and bad news... The good news is the Pershing is firing away like crazy. The bad news is that I now know what the black plastic is from... ![]() This obviously took the impact when the post office dropped it... I am going to take it apart and see if that styrene glue will put it back together... The power of the guns is quite impressive. It shoots thru paper with ease. Puts dents in card and pop cans... I can get ricoshays (sp?) of 2 or 3 walls easy! ![]() There already a victim (me) My daughter shot me from an inch away on my bare ankle! It wasn't bad but it def. stung. I felt better when she shot herself, (from bout 3 feet away) right in the chest, She didn't appreciate me laughing at her hysterically. Wonder what the wife going to say when she see's hundred of little yellow balls all over the living room!

Glad you got and are enjoying the tanks! Could you take some vids of the tanks with sounds? I've never heard the ones with sounds and this is getting me itching for one. I just wish they would hurry and release a Sherman!!! Then I would be all over it! ![]() Btw, that Pershing looks quite nice too, I like how there are those packages and the helmets on the tank. A little detailing would make them look awesome! I still like the T34 from Trumpeteer? I think? I know I am going to get one sooner or later. Any thoughts on those tanks? |

I'll get on vids as soon as I can find some time, it's in pretty short supply around here right now... A cheap option for your tank would be to just upgrade the electronics maybe? The sounds worth it! Smoke maybe, I won't run it in the house long enough to decide if its cool or not. I believe the T-34 is a decent tank but it needs better electronics. The S&S upgrade might be a pretty easy solution to mod it into something better... I still haven't decided if its something I want or not... I want the panther but its electronics suck. (Why they would do that to a Super version is beyond me) So I'll wait a bit and hopefully they come out with a 10 speed version... The Bulldog I want as of yesterday! I think I like it way better then I do the pershing. And I like that one because you can see the Sherman in it. Back to the Pershing: And heres it fixed: ![]() I also forgot to mention that I had to remove the battery tabs so I could make the AA batteries work in the radio. Not sure why they even bothered to make them, they just get in the way anyways... If I have to have one beef about HL tanks. Its whats with the silver PAINTED sprockets? Its going to be a lot of work to get rid of it and unless you paint the entire tank it will prolly never look qute right...

well if you want to weather it anyway, may as well take it to bits and paint the hull, turret and all the wheels/sprocket at the same time....

I removed the smoke unit from the pershing. There was smoke oil in the tank but nowhere near the smoke unit. It was almost like some was dropped into it from the factory...![]() hmmm... interesting problem... I noticed a problem with the upper motor mount. Its bent pretty bad. Enough so that the pinion barely reaches the gear anymore. ![]() ![]() I believe it must be all the carpet running I have been doing, putting plenty of stress on a very thin mount. I am going to have to think of a way to strengthen this area before I drive them again. |

But I think I have a simpler idea to fix the bending upper motor issue...![]() All it is is a plastic or hard foam spacer that keeps the upper motor where it belongs. The bottom motor is very secure (being mounted in the lower of the tranny plate) So is an ideal perch to support the upper motor. |

I wasn't a fan of the armor on the side. From picture I had grabbed off the net there were plenty of Pershings that didn't run them. So I grabbed my dremel and went to town! |

Very cool
I like it better this way. I just hate how modern taknks like Abrams and Leos cover the road wheels and rollers  Those are my favorite parts of a tank. Cover them and you may as well have a moviing box. Nicely done, OC

I finally got around to finishing all the cuts I wanted to make. In the end I removed the side plates, the front cover plate and 1/2 of the rear cover plate. This is still a normal appearance in old pictures of the real thing and I think it looks a thousand times better. Now you can see the tracks. |

This was just one of the pictures I used to base my cuts on. Like I said before I love it this way over the stock setup!
