hey guys, started to tear down my ev last night for bb upgrade... as outcast has posted you need 10 5x10 bearings.. ok so i used 6 for the diff and the axle carriers, where do the other 4 go??
and stupid me didnt even pick up the bearings for the wheels, so i left it apart til i decide if i want to go that route.. do i really need them? i had a couple laying around from my mini-t and compared. not much difference seeing as theyre only riding the tracks. i want to ride sand, but i saw that post on seizing things up, so maybe i should go bb in the wheels. also, installed the front brace, seems much more rigid. expect pics of my camo job soon.. lots of masking, lots of patience |

you done the 2 in the trans? i.e. the other side of the plate from the spur gear? the ones I missed to begin with were in the bit that runs the drive sprocket(behind the brakes) these take 2 each.... that might be your missing 4? or any combination of the above... I found its such a major re-build you may as well leave it in peices till you have the rest of the BB's, its certainly alot of work to take apart considering how simple the chassis layout appears to be....

i had a local hobby store order the kyosho set for me.. i think it was like 9.50 or something, not bad seeing as im not much for machining. if you cant find a hobby store locally call kyosho america... im sure you can search around here and find the number. i dont really think its a must, but im sure over time the side plates would begin to flex. but once on, you can tell the difference in rigidness |

hey I know the numbers are right, it took me a while sitting down with the manual to find out were they all go, but they all went in there... unfortunatley I cant seem to find a supplier of complete sets of BB's for Kyosho kits near me, so I ordered 28 individual ones at around £1.50 each...yowch... worryingly this is still far cheaper than the official Kyosho Ball bearings sets which seem to go for ludicrous prices like £4.99 for 2x 8x14mm BB's....
