couple more choices: Tamiya Wild dagger (old and beat up but its the same wheelbase as most touring car sized lids): ![]() Tamiya Juggernaut f350(unpainted): ![]() thats a few of the lids I had laying around or wainting for paint - there were a few more but most were like the atomik/juggernaut lids as in too long to work, all maxx bodies are very long wheelbase(something like 12"+) whereas the good fitting lids were all short wheelbases, the KBF lid is only 9.5" wheelbase...and it still overhangs the chassis at both ends... hope this helps a little...

I agree, the blackfoot body looks best. It would look even better if you were to somehow cut the body between the two wheel wells so that it becomes one huge wheel well for the tracks. The body would sit lower too. The juggernaut body would look awesome but it's too long IMHO. |

Found these on another site I think they belong to the same guy with the midnight pumpkin bodied blizzard. A little goofy looking, might be better if the body was lower. This looks to be on a Blizzard DX. ![]()

quick5pnt0: If its not a Blizzard complete, that the roadwheels and tracks at least. Only differences between the DX and the Heavy Metal was the roadwheels, the color of the gears in the gearbox, the body, and the instruction manual, with that stupid 'Clip the Tracks' insert. I'm ~still~ looking for a set of the old BL10's... but no luck. Wonder if we beg hard enough, if Tamiya will re-release 'em... Naw, we couldn't be that lucky. |

I think you'd be very lucky indeed if Tamiya re-release Tracks for the Kyosho Blizzard...
 yeah I agree the juggy lid is awesome, it looks good on anything but its still far too big... I have seen some chopped to fit shorter 4x4 vehicles so I guess its doable...or maybe just use the cab and have a custom flatbed or something.... Quick5pnt0 I like that dahms bug body, its about the right size I just couldnt bring myself to chop it to fit cuz they are pretty rare now... I did this mainly for reference as a few folk were asking what sort/size of lid fits or not...this should answer some of those questions.... none of these lids are actually going on my blizzard tho, they are all off other vehicles or earmarked for projects...

I like the King Blackfoot myself. Makes me wish I still had a couple of them kicking around. The more I look at Blizzard the more I want to try a larger version. Kinda like 1.5 blizzards worth. but its hard enough just getting one, let alone more of them... |

Mebbe it's just me
but any body with wheel wells just don't look right on a tracked vehicle. Of course, I've also seen back in the day bodies mounted that left the wheel wells uncut for a smooth-side look, and those were even weirder looking. Good thing I like the stock body, eh? Chris

well the stocker lid aint bad... I dont like mine for several reasons, first the paint is peeling off rather too easily, I mean I havent abused my blizzard yet large chunks of paint are falling off both parts of the body... I also dont like the fact that the lower body section fits so snug over the chassis that you cant fit an ESC under it unless its dead centre(I have cut a hole in mine), the lower body is a pain to remove cuz of the roll hoop(I have now cut my lid so it can be removed without taking the roll hoop out first)... my only other gripe about the stock lid is that I cant see it keeping much mositure out, I mean its a tight fit but its hardly watertight.. as for these lids I just tried whatever was to hand, and as most of these lids have to go back on a vehicle with wheels I can't really trim them to fit...

I bet some of the 1/12 scale bodies may work. Something like a Tamiya Lunchbox or Midnight Pumpkin. I bet any of the Tamiya M Series bodies would work too. I'll try and get some pics today.................... |

Okay, so I was feeling silly and snapped a few body pics. Stock (well, mainly...lol) A Tamiya Mini Body (no comments on the crappy a$$ ruined paint job.....lol) And a Tamiya Lunchbox body (okay, so technically it's the Parma lexan repro......) I actually quite like the van body on it. I think doin' it up nice with the real Tamiya hardbody would be pretty slick. Though, if memory serves, I think someone had a rig like that back in the late '80s or early '90s. I seem to recall it in a few RC mags............. |

i hate to sound like a tool but your best bet if you wanna do it yourself and your new you should go with a 1pc body like a box van and if you do dont cut out the wheel wells and it would look ok im working on a top now for my E- Firestorm ill post pic later after i figure out how. but you have to think about waht the final product will be before u make your decissin also i can understand why u wouldnt want another blizzard body because the ones you can get range from 50 usd to 112 usd for replica models. but ither way the one u bought looks mint |
