Recivers are easy, but what to do about waterproofing servos, I ran my T-maxx today and I got about three minuites out of it before the servos started freaking out, I want to get this fixed before I start the hardcore snow play with my blizzard!

well you can seal up all the seams with silicone sealant - but the achiles heel of all servos is the main splined shaft/gear which has to be free to move, there isnt much you can do there other than using some fairly heavy duty grease to keep the water out. you can also use something called plastidip to coat the servo and other electrics in rubber/plastic... I've never tried this myself tho...

I've tried the plasti-dip and it works ok, but still is'nt enough to completely waterproof the servos.... I've destroyed my HITEC steering unit , even if it was plastidipped and greased.... Great link though! |

shame about your Hitec servo - how did it get damaged? I mean most of these methods are designed to render the servo splash proof, but if it becomes submerged it may not fair so well. odd thing is some manufacturers are making totally sealed waterproof ESC's, you'd think there would already be waterproof servos and receivers for boats and such?

I dunno what happened, the thing just won't turn one way.... opened it, cleaned it, and it's just not working propely.... of course I cannot return it with that bright white plasti-dip on it! lol It is a shame, I loved that servo on my t-maxx, quite powerfull |
