well, my blizzard EV has just been ordered, all i need now is 6-cell 7.2v pack, and ive seen a nice gp3300mah nimh pack at radio shack, and plan to pick one up and some paint for the body

im using some tamiya electronics which ive had laying around ever since i replaced them with a full digital spektrum kit (they used to be on my tamiya TNX...so they will have more than enough to torque to pull this puny thing around)

im thinking of a black and green paint scheme..or something along those lines
or blue with a double-counter stripe (i want it to look racy..even it is a slow tracked vehicle)

so until it arrives i will just have to sit and drool over pics and vids of it  :blizzard:

oh and is the the EV a full kit or an ARR?

It's ARR. You just need to install you servo(s) and an ESC or the mechanical speed control that comes with it - and paint the body of course. Atleast that what I have gathered from the others on the site. I should know for sure tomorrow - thats the expected delivery date UPS is giving. I just hope my brushless system shows up at the same time.

ARR. The box comes with the main chassis and running gear all put together. You just need to go over all the screws and check that they are all tight, make sure everything is installed correctly  , drop in your electronics of choice, paint the lid, charge a batt, and away you go. If you browse around here you will find some threads about things are sometimes not quite installed or adjusted right from the factory.

Throw up some pics when you get yours all together :D

*edit*- sorry for the double post. Must hit send same time as ^

Congrats on getting the Blizzard!!

any paint made for polycarbonate/lexan will work. typical acrylic spray paint will not work. if in doubt get Tamiya sprays with a PS prefix e.g. "PS34 Bright Red" as this is a polycrabonate paint.

the TS prefix is for styrene models and will not stick to polycarbonate/lexan.

any make of polycarbonate paint should work tho - pactra, faskcolour, aclad etc....

Testors makes polycarbonate AND other types of paints.
The Testors "Pactra" line of paints is what you want, not the other hard shell model types...

Example of what NOT to use

This type would work
Or this type would work

Your LHS should have the right kind if they carry common rc's...

I've read UH takes a while to send their stuff out. But it will eventually get to ya. No worries.

There was a few threads on couple other forums on the $70 TLT sales. After most made the post, they got it several days later.

:nice:
