Hi, Now I have done a short pice off my track. Have done it for test and look how I shall make the drive gear for the tracks. Well its completly alloy and steel, and this part of the track isn't perfect. Because its just a test, gonna do it with mutch higher tolerances and so. I think they will digg down in the surface and give a very good gripp. Well what do you think guys do they look ok or bad? http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/1210480968.gif&s=x12 http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/1210470616.gif&s=x12 http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/1210093625.gif&s=x12 http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/1210085218.gif&s=x12 /Xeno |

the cleats look rather small in relation to the 'chain' (for lack of better term). also I would seriously suggest that the chain has radiused edges otherwise it will be fighting the track movement by catching the ground directly(particularly bad for turning). I use the term radiused cuz you mentioned using a CNC so it should mean more to you than just "rounded" which is rather vague... other than that it looks like a good prototype...

Hehe cool u really did say the things I already had thought off do. I made the track when I was att work today, and had no time to make them "nice/good". But like I did say before they must give very good gripp because off the gap between the "overlayers". Nice for the reply I am also goona use bricks on all moving places and do it more losend upp with some little larger holes. I am really allso hoping that the tracks will sprey mud when its on full speed hehe.. /Xeno |

Custom made machines are always nice. Even if you fail you can be prowd to be one of the few that even try! ![]() Tracks are very difficult to pull off. Your off to a good start. My custom design was centered around chain that had tabs on it. All I would need to do then is bolt the cleats to the chains. And I would have a functional track. Keep with it. Can't wait to see more progress! |

Hi outcastrc, Yes I have thinked about use chains before to but It wont get as cool as these will I dont think. And I wonna do almost evrything alone to. (-: What did u think about the new engine I did found? I am gonna use 2 engine's 1 for each track then I will use 1 speedcontrol with a mixer, for use when I turn around. And got an 7 channel radio now so it should be nice to drive forward while I push the 2 "steering pins" only push on will only make 1 track move. So it can make so that 1 track goes forward and 1 backward. Nice for fast turning. /Xeno |
