Hello all. Glad to find this forum - hopefully it will catch on. I just picked up an EV. Installed an Mtroniks RV Max (8 turn, reverse, waterproof), Hitec 475 servo, and 7 cell 3600's. The motor I'm currently running is a Tamiya Sport Tuned 540 with 25 tooth gear. Seems to move along pretty good with this set-up. Can these things handle lower turn motors - 19 turn, etc? I don't want to start tearing up the tracks and chains. Now, waiting for some snow! Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Welcome to the forum! I would think that Blizzards can handle some higher powered motors with ease. Seeing as the nitros using the same chassis. A 19 turn motor has plenty of torque and still semi decent runtimes. A 17 might do very well as well. 4xAvante will be testing brushless systems in his when he gets it. Can't wait to hear the results. |

Hi guys Up until a few days I had a 12T in there with the stock gearing, and it was going just fine, although brushed motors don't like moisture very much... Friday I installed a 4300kV brushless system in my DF300 (EzRun 9T not to name it) and the performance level is similar to my 12T SV2, with more torque though it seems. Except BL motors are much less sensitive to moisture, so for the first time my blizz ran in the snow for more or less 20mns with a 3200 cheap lipo without any issues! A total dream, lots of endless torque even in crazy slopes, ok top speed although it isn't the vehicle's main strength. Time to gear up now ![]() Paul Edited by Lonestar, Dec 1 2008, 03:18 AM.

sorry, this is more of a "motor" answer - the gearing is stock - but I put in a 5700kv brushless with a sidewinder esc, and it goes like h*ll, on the flat, up a hill, doesn't matter - I had the motor/esc from another project, so I thought why not......... from the vids I have seen on yoooutube, the performance is similar to the "nitros" I have seen - AND NO NOISE hahaha ( I have heard recently that they no longer produce these - sad sad ) ps: anyone have a line on spare "bodies" Edited by phatchantz, Dec 13 2008, 06:00 PM.

off-topic thanks for that - but they don't seem to ship outside the U.S.A. - I tried that select a state for taxes thing - no go -so - it might be the "bay" if I want another one - - - I am being swayed by the "nitros" for some reason ( it's those damn videos on youuuuutube )
