Just got my Blizzard today and have finished installing the radio gear. I am using a standard servo for steering, a LRP ESC and a JR XR2 radio, 2400 pack. When I try to drive this it glitches, stutters and jump left to right like crazy. Not pleasant to drive at all. So I swapped out everything for all different equipment. Same exact things happened. Both radios were AM and both sets of electronics worked just fine in a RC10B3 during the day. I'm going to try an FM tomorrow but I'd like some suggestions in advance. Any ideas? |

weird. Did you try putting the receiver outside the chassis? Get it out of the alum and away from the esc. While you would never want to run it that way it will tell you whats causing the glitching. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of re-arranging to get things to play along... Hope we'll see lots of pics and impressions. |

It was the ESC. For some reason TWO different ESCs (LRP, Tekin) would glitch like mad in this thing, but work fine in other vehicles. I switched to an FM radio and it didn't stop. Finally I took a really old Futaba ESC (15 years old) and put it in. Worked like a charm. Go figure. The receiver was wrapped in foam the whole time too. |

Glad to see you figured it out. Least those escs will work in other vehicles. I have had a few of those problems myself over the years... |

Guys... AM's are lousy for noise. Go FM if you can afford it... dual conversion Rx if you can afford it (GWS makes some on 75 band, guy on eBay has 'em) Also make sure you got noise supression caps on your motors. And keep the Rx and antenna away from the motor and its power leads. If you're set on AM's, I'll be unloading a bunch of geear soon as I sort it out. Got a few Magnum 2ch's, a few Conquest 4ch's... and two truely ancient ones, 4ch and 6ch with vintage rservos, and they still purr. If you want me to list 'em here first, let me know. |
