So, I bought a Pershing not long after they came out, one of the first S&S ones. I was very happy with it, even though the gun didnt last very long. Sure it was fun shooting at stuff, but thats not the main reason I wanted it, I just wanted a tank! lol So after a while, I got bored with it and it sat on the shelf for a long time untouched. One day I decided to get it down and start modifying it a little. I had recently bought some new wireless video gear for one of my planes, but since the weather wasnt cooperating much I decided to pull it out of the plane and stick it on the tank. The gun wasnt functioning, so I decided to just replace it with the camera. The first version was rather crude and ugly, but it worked... ![]() The other day I was talking to Outcast, and he showed me how he cut the mud guards off of his Pershing, and I liked it so much I did the same! While I was at it, I decided to integrate the camera more, to make it more appealing to the eye. Here's what I came up with...![]() ![]() As you can see, I tucked the camera into the turret a little more, and moved all the video transmitting stuff inside. It's a 2.4GHz 200mW audio/video transmitter, with a Supercircuits PA-3 Mic and PC303XS CCD camera. I've flown that setup on the airplane for almost 1/2 mile and never lost the video feed. The range suffers alot being on the ground in the tank, but I can still drive all over my yard while I sit inside and watch from my PC! It's LOADS of fun. I'll try to get a video recorded next time I have it out, and post it here. Oh, almost forgot, you may have noticed the machine gun on top is moved, I needed to move it to have room for the 2.4GHz antenna to protrude out of the top of the turret, so I moved it according to this picture, the same one that Outcast showed me to see how the fenders were cut on some of them... ![]() Thanks for looking!
