well I only have an EV version to go by but they do grip better in reverse and tend to wheelie, no idea if its actually faster tho.....besides anything else my LRP ESC cuts out if you run it in reverse for more than about 30 seconds.... only thing I can thinks of is, are the drive chains on the right way round? they are designed to work best going forwards only...
