thx for the quick answer  update: Got it running tonight. First tank on a box, second tank on the ground with medium throttle. This is a real drinker. Fuel consumption is much higher than my tr-15. Speed was about the same as in the EV vids. In second gear it was more like the brushless vid, but not quite as high, although this was, as I mentioned, only half throttle. I need to read the manual a few more times to find out how to adjust the 2-speed, because I don't think the second gear should have engaged at all at those revs. Steering was great to the right, both on the spot turns and wide smooth high-speed turns without problem. Left there was none, but that was because I forgot to loctite a stopscrew  Next on the list: Start work on the body, and pray that the weather turns colder again, temperatures rose about 15 degrees Celsius from yesterday, and the snow is melting
