In the town hall, there was much debate over the identity of the killer. Some people argued seriously, attempting to analyze evidence and interpret details. Some simply followed along with the arguments of more competent or more motivated people, content to let the blame fall on those people should they be wrong. Others treated the situation like a joke, as if the mafia were not a real threat, and voted with seeming randomness and lack of purpose, as if they were bored and simply ready to go home. There was no clear, unifying voice among the citizens, and chaos prevailed. Ultimately nothing was decided and nothing was done. The citizens left the town hall and returned to their homes, some disgruntled, others apathetic, all hoping that they would wake up safely in the morning. CATS ghost shook his invisible head in sadness as he watched the proceedings. Somewhere in LotE, the godfather smiled to himself as night descended once more upon the town. No candidate has atleast 40% of the total votes cast, hence, no lynch. PMs NOW or face the wrath of

Well, since the lynch didn't pass, none of the people who voted in the tie are the politician. Isn't necessarily the best thing that could have happened, but it's important to note. |

The whole majority vote thing does change it quite a bit. Seems like it'd put a lot more emphasis on deciphering the clues and communicating well and less on the lynching people and hoping to get mafia in the process. Makes it a lot tougher, as well as slower. I'm interested to see how it plays out. |

I feel sketchy about changing the rules at this point, people could demand that they be changed this way or that in order to help their side. Maybe if there's an overwhelming majority that want something to be changed. I'd rather just see how this plays out and evaluate whether these rules are good or not once the game is done. Regardless, the biggest problem is just inactivity/apathy, though that plagues every mafia game and I feel like we're not doing too bad in that respect here (11 out of 18 people voted last round). |

4:00 AM, and leek was wide awake. He had barely slept at all, whenever he drifted off, he always suffered dreams of a cloaked man breaking into his house, which had surely happened somewhere in LotE during the night...... Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, three slow raps. leek jumped, then hopped out of bed and rushed to the door, not sure exactly what he was going to do; but when he opened the door, no one was there. Then he noticed a small, red light out in his yard, floating near the street. He couldn't see what was holding the red light, as it was a dim light and it was very dark outside. The light moved out into the street and began to move away from leek's house. What was this? A mafia trap? Surely not, if it were mafia, they would've just barged into his house, right? With his curiosity and restlessness getting the best of him, leek followed the light. The light moved all over town, leading leek on a wild goose chase. By the time it stopped moving, the sun was coming up. leek simply stood and stared at the scene he'd been led to, then when he looked back towards the small red light, it was gone, as if the rising sunlight had disintegrated it. He thought it was strange, but there was no time to think about it. He had to go get someone and tell them what he'd found. Cap'n's house had been set alight, and looked like it had been burning for a good while already. Large and heavy objects, including a car, a boulder and a piano had been placed in front of all the doorways and windows, preventing any escape from the inferno. leek hoped that Cap'n was still alive in there, but he looked back one more time as he ran towards the fire department, and saw the roof fall in. He knew it was too late. Later that day, investigation of the blackened ruins revealed a charred skeleton, quickly identified as Cap'n. When the citizens returned, they also found that the large objects used to bar the doors and windows had been re-arranged out in the street, with letters spray-painted on each object. It spelled out a message, this time in alternating red and blue letters. "LONG LIVE THE GODFATHER" --- Elsewhere in LotE, the godfather sat in his darkened lair, puffing on a cigar and petting a large persian cat. So far, things were going well. He had evaded both the bodyguard and the citizens' attention, and he had confidence that his plans to take over the town would go through smoothly. A map of LotE, with each member's home marked in some way, sat on the desk before him; Zoe and Cap'n houses were crossed out with a large red X, and now the godfather was patiently considering his next target. Then the doors to his lair burst open. Looks like he hadn't gotten away unnoticed on the first day, after all. The man now standing before him wore a large trenchcoat, and hid his face under a wide-brimmed hat, effectively hiding his identity. The godfather stood up and drew a small pistol out of his jacket, then aimed and fired......but nothing came out, there was only an empty click. He'd been outplayed. The vigilante crossed the room swiftly, pulling back his sleeves to reveal spiked brass knuckles on both hands. Later that day, when the citizens assembled, the godfather's barely recognizable body was strung up from the roof of the town hall. "MAFIA BEWARE" was etched into the skin of his bare chest. --- Cap'n got murdered, and the vigilante nailed Purg, the godfather. Vote now! |

Such smugness, must be mafia! But in other news, could be MSB. We seem to be waist deep in red herrings, so I could be completely wrong, but Marvin the Martian has black and green, and fighter kirby has red and blue. It's all I can possible link to anyone, as it's more likely that heavy objects is a fake clue. Whatever, he can be partially blamed for the last vote anyways. Admittedly I did harm by not voting at all, but still. I least I didn't try and lynch myself. MSB - 1 (Luneth) |

Too lazy for a big thing, but...
This tells me that Purg was night 1's killer, meaning that the clues that repeat (large objects, alternating colours) probably aren't the clues we should be looking for. Alternatively, I misunderstand that line and it's MSB, who I was suspicious of anyway. I abstain until we decide on if purg was ngiht 1 killer. |

unless you are mafia, that pins it down to purg dont think we should neglect the objects though, colors might be misleading if anything, it points to life admiral's avatar, but it's a small association note that Cap'n has alternating red and blue, and he's kinda dead |

If we assume that the clues are for Purg and because of that invalid, it's best to go with any suspicious activity from the previous vote, which for me means MSB. Voting for yourself is a rather sneaky way of abstaining if you're not a prime lynching candidate, and maybe even less suspicious. MSB - 3 (Luneth, MSB, Book) rn7 - 1 (R2D2) I guess it could be rn7 because of Cap'n, but meh, we can always get him next time. Edited by BookwormGamer, Mar 4 2010, 11:36:05 PM.

Hmm, rereading the post, it'd make sense for purg to have been both killers, and the section I'd quoted before referring to his behaviour. So, going on behaviour, I'm most suspicious of MSB, and although I agree with rn7, msb is really the only chance at a real lynch here.
