The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow Okay, since I was bored I started to get this into English. To quote (a bit alterated) version of the reallife game (what's on the back). Too soon, but, whatever.
Goal The goal of the game depends on the role you have. But it's the same as the mafia game. You either win as a good guy, or as a bad guy. Though there is third group: the lovers. Survive until the end and win How to play? Okay, so, this works a bit different then the mafia game. I hope I'm going to explain this right, because I suck at explaining. If you have any questions: feel free to ask. Because I probably forget some things. One of the most important things about this variant is that it requires a lot more activity (to give you an example of a game recentenly played with 18 players: there were about 700 posts before the game ended). That's a bit different then the games here, I imagine. For roles, see below First Day On the first day, the mayor will be elected. Everyone gets the option to make himself eligible for the position of mayor. Everyone gets the option to attack other players, and finally, decide who they are going to vote for. The whole day, till a set time, people can send in votes to the GM via PM. After the set time, the mayor will be announced. Cupid will also shoot his arrows to form the two lovers. Second Day The second day will then start. Again, there will be a set time. Before this time, all lynch votes and actions of special roles will have to be in, or they will not be. The whole day, and days after that, everyone will have to start to find out who the wolves are (unless you are one ofcourse). Manipulation, bonding, and so on, are going to have to be your tactics to win. Hints aren't the way to find out if some is the bad guy. No, you have to use your brains. Because without knowning, werewolves always play different then citizens and it's your job to find out. To make this work, everyone has to be active and try to win. This means: you have to lure out reactions. Say to someone you think he's a werewolf to get a reaction and try to find the real wolves. Once the set time has come, the lynch will come, followed by the werewolf murder. After that, if there are any, the special roles moves will come. Then the next day will start. And Further The game continues, untill a group wins. Hints There will only be hints (though I prefer there being none) if one of the two groups (citizens/werewolves) is at a serious disadvantage or if someone is seriously inactive. I will not say if there is a hint in a story. The only thing I will say is that the hints to werewolves will be in the werewolf stories. The hints to special roles (that work with the citziens) will be in the stories of the lynch. Few Rules
Probably forgot a few, rules that I play by, but aren't explictly named anywhere. Roles Citizen The normal role. Most people will have this role and their goal is to survive and find the wolves as soon as possible, by clever manipulation and taking risks. Every night they vote on the person they think is wolf. They don't have any other powers. The citizens have to kill all the wolves and the lovers in order to win. Werewolves During daytime, these wolves are normal villagers of Miller's Hollow. But during the night they change and devour someone. Among themselves they chose a leader, who will sent a kill every night to the GM. If the leader dies, another one is appointed. The wolves have to kill everyone, in order to win. Mayor The Mayor is elected on the first day by majority voting. Everyone sends a PM to the gameleader with whom they want to see as mayor. The winner will be announced by the end of the day. If during a lynch vote there is a tie, the Mayor has the deciding vote. Mayor is an extra role that you can have besides another special role. The Seer (aka Dectective) Every even (night 2, 4, 6, etc) night, the Seer can sent a PM to the GM to get the role of this person. His goal is to help the citizens, without them knowing his role. So he has to manipulate others into voting on wolves, if he has seen them. If a person is a lover this will not be seen by the Seer. The Seer will only see the role given at the start of the game Cupid The angel of love. At the start of the game, Cupid gives two names to the GM. These two will become lovers. Cupid then has to try and survive the game, together with the lovers, to win the game. If both lovers die, Cupid can still win together with the citizens. He is not allowed to make himself known to the lovers. Lovers The Lovers have to win by surviving everyone else (save for Cupid). If one of the lovers dies, the other lover will commit suicide, because of a broken hart. They can tell each other their roles, for optimum working together. If the lovers are still alive when all the wolves are death, the citizens lose Guardian Angel (aka bodyguard) Every night the Guardian Angel can sent one name to the GM, whom he wants to protect from being eaten by the wolves. If he's right, the wolves fail that night. The guardian Angel can not procect some one two nights in a row. Witch The witch sides with the citizens and has two potions. From the third day onwards, the Witch can decide to use these potions. The first potion is a life potion. By sending a name to the GM, if that person happens to be eaten by the wolves, he will be brought back to life. This name can be changed at any time. The second potion is a potion of death. The witch can decided to give this potion to anyone, and that person will die immediately, no matter his role is. Hunter De hunter also sides with the citizens. As long as he lives, he will also act as one, because he has no special powers. But if the hunter gets killed in any way, he has the option to fire on last shot, hoping to kill a wolf. The hunter gives a name to the GM at the start of the game, that person will be killed if the hunter dies (the name can be changed at any time, before the Hunters death). ---- - So, that's about everything. What do you guys think of this variation of the game? |

Sure. Waddacku always runs Werewolf when he GMs Mafia at other forums anyways, and no/few clues isn't unusual either. Though I found amusing. Edited by Magus, Jan 18 2010, 10:13:23 AM.

I like it. At least it'll rely more on interactions, which is usually how mafia is played usually played else where, and without hand holding clues. However, I have little faith people will be really active. It'll be fun to try though. |

The Werewolf version I'm used to has no guardian angel and no mayor, and no limitations on which nights people get to act, but it seems familiar enough. I'd be up for this. Also no clue games superior. |
