So, rn7 and stewy were the last two? I was going to tell you guys in my last words that I thought rn7 was mafia (I thought I was a really obvious target), but the update came too quickly. 3 hour night phases are waaaaay shorter than what I'm used to, but I guess APman would get bored with this otherwise. Stewy had me fooled though. And I want to know how those big eyes weren't Luneth. That seemed way too obvious. Edited by R2D2, Jan 3 2010, 12:50:55 AM.

Purg has a kid.
EVIL PALADINS KILL EVIL
Sanger Zonvolt's theme is Cleaver of Evil, as I recall. Or The Sword that Smites Evil. Smite Evil, Paladin. Longswords, I've heard, are the traditional weapon of Paladins. Paladins never make sense.
A PALADIN WOULD THINK A SURPRISE ATTACK DISHONORABLE
Generic protagonist meets generic villain.
Righteous man, furious anger, great vengeance. The former is what a Paladin thinks of him/herself or his/her master/employer/etc.
A little vague, D&D characters can cut off their own heads if they fail enough.
I dunno, maybe that's what a Paladin would say after killing a villain?
Fallout 3, ronny played it at one point and posted stuff about it or something, I don't really remember.
FE7 Lyn (at least) critical animation. Criticals are random and luck based. Random number. Seven is generally lucky. Edited by APman, Jan 3 2010, 01:22:47 AM.

You don't normally associate BK with paladins, especially since he had an evil monologue. I liked my War40k comparison better. The moment I saw that "For the Mafia" I knew it was a clue for BK. Also, the fuck do I have to do with Lyn? And crit=lucky=random, the fuck? Your last clue sucked! Critical attack's been overused as a clue any way. |

Yea, that happens, and should happen. Otherwise the game would have ended much earlier, and been much more dead, considering BK only recently decided to come back. A simple Purg lynch, me lynch, likely Blade lynch, and inevitable death by inactivity isn't what I'd call an entertaining game. edit: that said, much props to the bk for coming back just in the nick of time. if it weren't for him, we woulda probably lost Edited by rn7, Jan 3 2010, 02:17:34 AM.

Night one investigation: Blaed. Night 2: rn7. Night 3: dead, but I was thinking about BK (srsly). Purg died fast, and I was fairly certain that bk killed me because Paladins and RIVAL and his return at that moment to bandwagon with who I knew was mafia. EDIT: also, good game. Come on now guys, I gave this one away and you still botched it somehow. Observe: 2. If you're taking the game seriously, you're mafia. rn7 was taking the game pretty seriously, look at this:
Plus, actually trying to figure out clues and vote accurately. 5. If you don't go along with the latest lynching fad, you're almost definitely mafia. Look at the round where Blade was lynched, instead of hopping on the Blade bandwagon, rn7 voted for roy, going against the current lynching fad. Now that one should've been a dead giveaway, though at that point I guess it was too late and there weren't enough active cits anyway. Really though, all you had to do was remember my last words. If interpreted correctly by a trained eye, the Laws will always indicate the Mafia, without fail. |

you didn't need your rules to see that rn7 was pretty damn suspicious already. Your common senses should be tingling already. And at my lynching, there was no other choice, apart from outvoting the cits, and causing a double lynch, as we wouldn't have had the upper hand then, so it was even more apparent we were mafia. Of course, this only works out due to inactivity. Also, I knew you investigated me Lemon, since you were going after me so thoroughly without any real clues, haha. |

yeah, i understand what you're saying, but the laws aren't entirely absolute. There are flaws, in that it depends on the users perceptions. Clues, while changing, are absolute in the sense that if you're right, you're right. In this way, both clues and Laws are subjective, and are in no way absolute, therefore, fundamentally flawed. That means you cannot entirely depend on them, as you cannot entirely trust clues to lead you to a correct answer, as there will always be a possibility of them being wrong. What I mean is that this argument is moot and pointless, and will lead nowhere but in circles. Edit: Just wanted to add, I understand why you guys follow the Laws, as it is usually much easier to discern the behaviour of one, as that will always be present in a mafia game, and people may not always interpret clues correctly. Also Lemon, I don't believe the Laws are entirely greater than Clues, even you gave in at the sight of a blatant clue in the first round. They are pretty much used to only build suspicion of another, which works both ways for cits and mafia applying pressure to act, and you only began voting on me when you discovered my identity as detective, which isn't entirely inherent in the Laws. In fact, I might have to agree with you there rn7. They definitely aren't laws, but a very loose outline in general behaviour. Of course, those with a trained eye are going to get it, they're the ones who are the most perceptive, and would have a greater ability to suspect others, and generally they don't follow the laws anyway (case in point, Lemon and WJC already). That just seems like such a false reason to completely trust in the Laws, and you only bring them up when it suits your own purpose. They can be there as a framework for suspicion, but even Lemon didn't completely act on the Laws until he had firm proof, i.e. he was detective so he had absolute confirmation of roles, etc, and used it as a basis to try and cast some suspicion on me, in light of his findings. |
