lol I don't even know where to find an arcade around here... There used to be one at the theatre, but I don't know if it's been updated since I was 10 or not, never go to the theatre. And there was one in the mall for a while, but it closed... and was mostly just a place for DDR kids to spend their time.
just saying.

Yeah, but the Chinese are more well known for their martial arts.

Magus

He appeared to have been killed by a stab wound to the heart, likely done using a knife. Unfortunately, the knife was nowhere to be seen.

Knife is too generic, Walter's guy in fallout uses a knife but Magus doens't read that and the whole thing is just far too generic to be a clue.

Magus

Carved into APMan's chest, presumably by the missing knife after the kill, were a swastika and the number 3.

Member number three is Magus, red herring.

Swastika is fish, who isn't playing this game, red herring.

Magus

The cits were confused as to whether this meant the killer was a Nazi, a Hindu, a third child, or just an evil Mafioso.

Hindu thing relates to eunichs? Quite a stretch, moreso because I can't relate anyone here to being hindi.

Magus

Prior to being stabbed, APMan appeared to also have been severely wounded in the chest through some kind of blunt trauma.

We can assume this is from his fists, punisher likes to hit people in the chest?

Quote:

Also, a note had helpfully been left next to the corpse. It read "Can I go sell sea shells by the sea shore?" "Shore you can!"After groaning at the terrible pun, the cits began to consider who to lynch.

Punisher, also, Shoryuken (It's the uppercut, Stewy and ncyk) is hidden and makes sense on how the punisher got into the armoured machine with a punch from below.

I'm assuming last night's murderer is the Punisher as well because it was near APlad's bus, also all of the clue connections.

So, the things that Magus seems to want us to see (things that are present in both killings) are...

1.) Fists, shoryuken.

2.) Favours chest shots.

3.) Hindu thing, quite a stretch imo.

Other things of note...

4.) Punisher is a jerk.

5.) Has a knife, but not the weapon of choice.

I'm... not sure who to vote for right now.

Let's use the Laws of Mafia Behavior, as invented by 7nr, snpie and kaz in some previous games:

1. Whoever writes the most is mafia.

2. If you're taking the game seriously, you're mafia.

3. If you're trying too hard (i.e. defending yourself after being accused), you're mafia.

4. If you change your vote alot, you're suspicious, probably mafia.

5. If you don't go along with the latest lynching fad, you're almost definitely mafia.

6. Whoever places their vote last on a mafioso's lynch is likely to also be mafia. I don't think Snpie, Kaz or Ronny ever actually said this one, but I definitely saw someone say it somewhere.

7. If you disagree with or deny ANY of the above rules, you are 100% guaranteed mafia.

Also, anything Magus says is true, but he's said nothing so far.

Lemon - 1 (Walter)

Rules 1, 2 and 3, next.

tbh, I think Rei is mafia, but the laws don't point to him.

2. If you're taking the game seriously, you're mafia.

3. If you're trying too hard (i.e. defending yourself after being accused), you're mafia.

But I defend myself every game whenever someone accuses me. Which, statistically speaking, has worked out for me and I've only had one (Two if you count GM) roles on LotE.

WJC

4. If you change your vote alot, you're suspicious, probably mafia.

Voted first night, stayed on the same man. Didn't vote today or day 2.

WJC

5. If you don't go along with the latest lynching fad, you're almost definitely mafia.

I'm not voting on myself, that doesn't work out. >_>

6. Whoever places their vote last on a mafioso's lynch is likely to also be mafia. I don't think Snpie, Kaz or Ronny ever actually said this one, but I definitely saw someone say it somewhere.

I was first or second or thrid or something first night.

All he's done was toss his vote on Lunny towards the end of that day phase. This shows that he is paying attention, but not doing anything. If he were a citizen, it would probably be the latter without the former. More importantly, he's not dead yet.

This shows that he is paying attention, but not doing anything.
I pay attention at random intervals, as always. Sometimes if what I see interests me enough, or I'm bored enough, I'll go back and read earlier posts. Like right now, I just finished a manga series and still had the 'mafia updated' IM window from Magus open, so I thought, "Hey, let's check mafia."

Dude stop defending yourself. It just makes you a mafia.

At this point, we're lynching you because you defended yourself.

As for why I initially voted for you, rules 1, 2 and 3, though you do this every game, so meh.

The more valid question would be, why did everyone go along with my bandwagon?

Japan and Germany fought on the same side of WWII, but the Swastika doesn't relate to Japan and the Rising Sun doesn't relate to Germany.

Also, the three is quite clearly a red herring towards Magus being member number three.

Well, i used ctrl+f and searched for Japan on the wikipedia page.

Wikipedia

The buddhist sign was standardised as a Chinese character 卍 (pinyin wan), and as such entered Japanese 卍字 (Manji)

k, doens't look so good for China.

Wiki

Buddhism originated in the Indian subcontinent in the 5th century BC and inherited the manji or swastika. Also known as a "yung drung"[16] in ancient Tibet, it was a graphical representation of eternity[17]. Today the symbol is used in Buddhist art and scripture, known in Japanese as a manji (literally, "the character for eternality" 萬字), and represents Dharma, universal harmony, and the balance of opposites. When facing left, it is the omote (front) manji, representing love and mercy. Facing right, it represents strength and intelligence, and is called the ura (rear) manji. Balanced manji are often found at the beginning and end of Buddhist scriptures (outside India). One can see swastika on the Pillars of Ashoka where the swastika is a symbol of the cosmic dance around a fixed center and guards against evil.

The paired swastika symbols are included, at least since the Liao Dynasty, as part of the Chinese language, the symbolic sign for the character 萬 or 万 (wàn in Mandarin, man in Korean, Cantonese and Japanese, vạn in Vietnamese) meaning "all" or "eternality" (lit. myriad) and as 卐, which is seldom used. A manji marks the beginning of many Buddhist scriptures. The manji (in either orientation) appears on the chest of some statues of Gautama Buddha and is often incised on the soles of the feet of the Buddha in statuary. Because of the association of the right-facing swastika with Nazism, Buddhist manji (outside India only) after the mid-20th century are almost universally left-facing: 卍. This form of the manji is often found on Chinese food packaging to signify that the product is vegetarian and can be consumed by strict Buddhists. It is often sewn into the collars of Chinese children's clothing to protect them from evil spirits.

In 1922, the Chinese Syncretist movement Daoyuan founded the philanthropic association Red Swastika Society in imitation of the Red Cross. The association was very active in China during the 1920s and the 1930s.

Balanced between Japan and China, again.

wiki

Some sources indicate that the Chinese Empress Wu (武則天) (684–704) of the Tang Dynasty decreed that the swastika would be used as an alternative symbol of the sun. As part of the Chinese script, the swastika has Unicode encodings U+534D 卍 (pronunciation following the Chinese character "萬": pinyin:wàn); (left-facing) and U+5350 卐 (right-facing).[19]

The Mandarin "Wan" is a homophone for "10,000" and is commonly used to represent the whole of creation, e.g. 'the myriad things' in the Dao De Jing.

In Japan, the swastika is called manji. Since the Middle Ages, it has been used as a family coat of arms. On Japanese maps, a swastika (left-facing and horizontal) is used to mark the location of a Buddhist temple. The right-facing manji is often referred as the gyaku manji (逆卍, lit. "reverse manji"), and can also be called kagi jūji, literally "hook cross".

In Chinese, Korean, and Japanese art, the swastika is often found as part of a repeating pattern. One common pattern, called sayagata in Japanese, comprises left and right facing swastikas joined by lines.[20] As the negative space between the lines has a distinctive shape, the sayagata pattern is sometimes called the "key fret" motif in English.

And again.

wiki

In recent years, controversy has erupted when consumer goods bearing the symbol have been exported (often unintentionally) to North America.

When a ten-year-old boy in Lynbrook, New York bought a set of Pokémon cards imported from Japan in 1999, his parents complained after finding that two of the cards contained the Manji symbol which is the mirror image of the Nazi swastika. This also caused a lot of concern amongst fans from Jewish communities. Nintendo of America announced that the cards would be discontinued, explaining that what was acceptable in one culture was not necessarily so in another; their action was welcomed by the Anti-Defamation League who recognised that there was no intention to be offensive but said that international commerce meant that "isolating [the Swastika] in Asia would just create more problems".[79]

In 2002, Christmas crackers containing plastic toy pandas sporting swastikas were pulled from shelves after complaints from consumers in Canada. The manufacturer, based in China, explained the symbol was presented in a traditional sense and not as a reference to the Nazis, and apologized to the customers for the cross-cultural mixup.[80] In 2007, Spanish fashion chain Zara has withdrawn a handbag from its stores after a customer in Britain complained swastikas were embroidered on it. The bags were made by a supplier in India and inspired by commonly used Hindu symbols, which include the swastika.[81]

Bringing this up may not have been your best idea, ncyk...

wiki

Japanese maps continue to use the swastika symbol to denote a Buddhist temple. [2]

Repeated from above, just a different section.

wiki

Flag of the city of Hirosaki, Aomori, Japan

I doubt magus has ever heard of Hirosaki, I sure haven't.

wiki

^ "Sayagata 紗綾形". Japanese Architecture and Art Net Users System

Reference/foornotes section.

So, I'm thinking that saying swastika = japan is a pretty null point.

Also, in hindsight, that's just a shitty idea anyways.
