Something short (preferably a 26-er), duybbed (my stepsiblings can't read subs worth a crap), and you know, good (or bad, whatever). |

Neon Genesis: Evangelion. 26 episodes of an extremely good anime. |

Code Geass is being dubbed currently and is up to something like ep 13 now, definitely worth a watch. Trigun is a pretty good choice otherwise. |

...Well, now that I think about it, I guess .hack//SIGN isn't the kind of thing to recommend randomly. >_> From what I've seen of the reviews, it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it as much as I did, or at all. I would recommend something else, but... I really need to know what kind of anime you're looking for first. |

I would suggest Beck: Monglian Chop Squad. A slice of life drama about a kid in a rock band. It aired on cable in Canada. I think it's available on DVD in the USA, UK and Australia. It's exactly twenty six episodes (though it ends rather abruptly). |

I seriously would not recommend Welcome to the NHK as Book has if your stepsiblings can't read subs due to age. It's...not exactly kid-friendly, the main character throws around phallic imagery, goes through a suicidal phase, secretly takes pictures of little girls, is an avid collector of child porn, is unemployed and educated only to the high school level, and is generally just a failure as a human. His best friend is a perverted anime freak and over the course of the story they attempt to make a porn game based off his crush, involving a tentacle rape scene that is shown during the course of the anime. Although it's not explicitly stated, the main character also takes mail-order hallucinogens, and is eventually forced to get a job because he starts starving to death. That's Welcome to the NHK. It's a great story, great manga, great light novel, decent anime, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to a kid who can't keep up with subs, even to today's generation. Mahoraba's a pretty good anime, and clocks in at 24 episodes, but I dunno if it's dubbed. Kino's Journey is good, is 13 episodes long, and has long been dubbed. Neon Genesis Evangelion is amazing, is 26 episodes long, and has also long been dubbed. Azumanga Daioh might not be your cup of tea, but it's a great series, dubbed and 26 episodes long. Last Exile is not necessarily great, but it's definitely enjoyable, especially for young kids, and it's 26 episodes of epic. Haibane Renmei is good but not necessarily enjoyable for young children, and is 14 episodes or so. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is 13 episodes and fairly good, but I dunno if it's dubbed and if your stepsibling is a boy he might not even want to pick it up even though it's more like Dragonball Z with little girls than Sailor Moon. Digressing a bit, I'd also heavily recommend Tokyo Godfathers, which should be dubbed, and obviously any of Miyazaki's films. |

Still epic, but epic and great are two different things. Snakes on a Plane was epic, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'd say it's a great movie. Last Exile had the beginnings of a great story, but in the end it was a lot of wasted potential. |

Hey, i forgot about this topic. Also, we ended up watching 4 seasons of Corner Gas instead, but I'll probably check out a few of these myself. Also, I've already seen Beck: MCS and Trigun, and thoroughly enjoyed both. |
