Inerus

It had been a week now, since he had been in Hanles. Here, it always seemed to be sunny, bringing light to this always busy city. He wondered if the mages of Hanles pushed bad weather away on purpose, to always make it look cheerful and a good place to live. That is not right... Inerus thought. Nature should not be tampered with.

Inerus was sitting on his bed, gazing out of the window. For a few days now, he had not seen anyone that the government did not permit him to see. That meant none of the people he came with. Not Cadra, not Levin, not Toremi, not Vall, no one. All Inerus saw was media, asking him countless questions, and politicians, feeding him propaganda.

It's just like in Eilfein. All people want to do is make me feel Avilas is wonderful. They do not care about where I come from, do they? They were in no hurry to press questions about his origin, of course. Inerus had scared them all with the idea of Dispossession. Here, they all Possessed, all were Possessed. Only he, Inerus, was Dispossessed.

"Can I enter?" his host, mayor of Hanles, Ambassador of Haushalt to Eilfein, Lhior, asked. Inerus focused on the doorknob, willing it to twist, and used the gift to open the door. "So interesting...that gift. What is it exactly? Magic?"

"It is only a power I use. Magic is Possessed. The gift is not. If I were to Possess it, it would become magic," Inerus said. "I-"

"Well then," Lhior interrupted, eager to get off the subject of Possession, "I think I'm ready to give you a full tour of Hanles now. I'm glad I made all the arrangements...otherwise, it would simply be impossible. After all, tomorrow, the Grand Festival of Freedom begins, and on the third day of it, the tournament begins!" Inerus nodded.

"You do know that you are invited to watch the tournament in my own personal box?" Lhior asked. Inerus again nodded. "Do you wish to? There will also be other important figures in Avilas including...the princess of Xenzin. BUt of course, you do not know what is going on there! Perhaps we should arrange an appointment with a historian for you at the university!" And Lhior began a long tale about secular rebels and a refugee princess.

"Are you interested in attending the tournament?"

"I see no reason to decline."

"Perfect!" Without another word, Lhior ran out. "Excuse me, but I have other appointments! Your tour guide will appear in an hour."

How long until I truly discover this world Avilas? How long until they try to discover the land I came from? How long until I see the friends I made once again? How long...until I discover how I came to be here, after drowning in the sea?

Rhia

"Yes, Keldia, I am perfectly aware of the dangers of me, a refugee, being in public at the tournament," Rhia said. "But it would be such an insult to deny the invitation, after Haushalt provided us protection. They can withdraw it any time, you know. And it's important we stay safe, while we plan our next move."

"I see the point, but any one of those people in the box could be an assassin sent to kill you," Keldia argued.

"But Keldia, you'll be there with me," Rhia told her. "I managed to change Lhior's mind and get you an invitation as well! We'll be perfectly safe there..."

"Well...if you must. But Daybreak keeps on warning me, we are in plenty of danger here."

"I know that."

"Then why are you accepting an invitation to go on a tour without me?"

"Because we must do everything we can to keep in Lhior's favor. He can brag about me being his guest, embarass me when I am not familiar with Haushalt politics, he can even stare at my body the way he does as long as we keep in his favor! It's important to have Haushalt's support when we take back Xenzin!

Now if you excuse me, Keldia, I have to get ready for the tour."

(Yes, you can join the big, giant tournament)

~Toremi~

She had finally managed to get her hands on a proper broom. It wasn't the sort she was most familiar with (straw bristles attached to a wooden handle), but the thing did much better than a hoe and was certainly much more comfortable than a steel rod. Unfortunately, it had aksi turned out to have a bit of a personality of its own. A personality that didn't particularly like being ridden on.

"This is really very awkward."

"It's your own fault for not being able to tame that stick monster of yours."

"I suppose. Do you think you could help me?"

"Mmmmm. No."

Toremi continued to hang upside down from her feet, the shaft of the broom stuck straight into the small window that the clocktower watchman used to change the hands of the clock in case they were wrong. Thankfully, she was too far up for anyone to see her undies. "This is really very awkward."

"You already said that."

((Ehh. Will add more later.))

Tarnan sighed as he lay down on his inn room. The journey into Haushalt was over and done with. Rebuilding hs reputation would take time, but his dignity would take no more blows. He was currently getting ready to show his prowess in the tournament; the second the words "arena fight" had been mentioned, Tarnan's longsword had changed. Normally, it had no defining features besides the royal blue stripe that ran down the middle, but the stripe had suddenly turned a deep red when he had decided to enter, and when Tarnan held it, he felt more reckless, more excitable. While it was a curious change, Tarnan thought little of it.
Now's my chances!

Kaeris / ????

"Didn't expect to see you here." A voice said. Kaeris whirled around in the alley she'd been lurking in, and sighed.

"Nor you." She replied.

"Here for the tournament, I'm guessing?" The cloaked figure asked. Kaeris nodded. "Not even trying to hide yourself anymore, are you?" He asked. Kaeris' tail swished happily between her legs, and she smirked; dressed in light combat clothes.

"Not really. It's not as bad out here. How's work coming along?" She asked.

"Not bad." The man replied. "I should go though. He's waiting."

"... He's here?" Kaeris asked. The man nodded. "Oh... I... I see..."

"Kaeris... you know--"

"Yes, I've come to accept it. It's just, wouldn't he worry about you being in this dark alleyway with me?" Kaeris asked. The hooded figure removed his hood; to reveal purple hair and stripes across his face.

"Not really. He's known for our whole lives that I wander and explore. He's worried about you too." The purple haired man replied. Kaeris smiled.

"That's nice. Tell him an old friend says hi, and is wondering if he'll join." Kaeris said. The purple haired man smiled back at her, and then a poof of smoke appeared; as the man seemingly shrunk into a small child, and bowed; leaving. Kaeris sighed.

Vall

"What a useless display, don't you think Garhara?" Vall mused. The wolf beside him yawned and lay down on the rooftop. "Then again, we haven't spoken to anyone either, have we?" He asked. The wolf snorted. "You're right. They're not caring about me. Right now..." He said, getting up and flicking his head back. "... Let's move Garhara." He said. The wolf stood up on all fours and he climbed on its back; and bounded across the rooftops.

Cadra

Cadra sighed as she stayed silent and invisible with her kanji, in the alleyway. She had come here to be showered with money for bringing Inerus to Haushalt. What did she got out of the deal? Nothing at all. So here she was, stealing again, except in Haushalt houses were a lot more secure than in Eilfein. She had become a street thief.

The very least I could have gotten was a copper, but not even that...not even a thanks, even from Inerus. I haven't seen him lately... She was so desparate for money now that she had considered entering the tournament. You make decent money just for making it past the first round...

Someone was approaching her in the alleyway. She drew out her dagger but brought it back down. It was a heavily armored man, with a massive longsword and a giant axe with a diamond edge. He had two guns as well. Sighing, Cadra watched as the man passed by, entering some building with who knew what in it.

Bringing out her wings, Cadra took to the sky, finding somewhere else to steal from. Still, she wondered about this angelic gift. Am I really descendant of Sielne? It can't be...she left Eilfein to head up north, to some land that doesn't exist anymore. Does she even exist? Maybe she's just propaganda. And why would she have these wings?

You know, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to enter the tournament, with her talents. She could always win a round or two and when the tournament got tough, drop out, collecting her money. And then make Inerus pay hell for what he put me through.

Deyus

As he walked through the alley, he had a feeling that someone or something was lurking there. But he couldn't see or hear anything, and so Deyus let it pass by. Entering the abandoned warehouse that was his destination, he shut the door. The warehouse was barely illuminated, the only source of light being a candle. As he entered the center of the dimly lit building, he stopped.

"You have brought Rhia safely to here?" a voice in the shadows asked.

"Yes. And my pay?"

"Here." A bag of gold flew towards Deyus out from the darkness. He caught it and opened it, checking it. "Now, I have another task for you...it pays double." Deyus's attention was suddenly caught. "Enter the tournament and help me capture Rhia to take her to Xenzin."

"Back to Xenzin?" Deyus asked. "Why?"

"My reasons are my own." Deyus shook his head, refusing the job. "Very well. To keep silent about this job, here's a powerful gift. This ring, when worn, heightens your senses." It appeared from the shadows, landing in Deyus's palm. He put it on. "Go."

"It was good doing business with you." Deyus walked out of the warehouse, using the ring to search for the presence he had felt earlier. But it was now gone.

((I really can't think of anything to write for Falo.))

~Falo~

"Well, that was a disappointment." The sack that he hefted over his shoulder was mostly filled with junk, a fact which he had been all too aware of when he had finished the bargain with the beaming shopkeeper. Though he had been hoping to find grand treasures of machinery in Haushalt, the best he had managed so far was a triple-barreled engine from a senile old man's experiment with a perpetual machine.

Having great faith in his own abilities, however, the young man had bought the useless crud anyway, trusting that he could manage to cobble something useful together from the spare parts.

Inerus just nodded as the tour guide took him and this woman, Princess Rhia of Xenzin, around Haushalt. It was, once again, all propaganda being fed, to him, to her, to both of them. Both were highly important guests with little idea of how Hanles functioned, after all. His thoughts drifted towards his friends again, as he tried to listen for a moment.

"And this watchtower-" The tour guide stopped, staring. "You, all the way up there! What are you doing?" Inerus turned towards the watchtower.

"Toremi?"

~Toremi~

"Oooooi! Up here!" The people way down on the ground below were apparently part of some tour group, seeing as how the man in front was gesturing rather heavily. Toremi didn't particularly care. Could've been that high-faluting princess of Xenzin for all she cared, as long as they could help her get down.

"Toremi, how're they going to be able -- Hey. That's Inerus." The flying cat's attention was finally piqued, and he abandoned his owner instantly, plummeting down to land right on top of the irate tour guide's head. "Inerus! How very pleasant to see you a -- "

"HI, INERUS!" came floating down rather loudly, cutting straight through Puyo's sentence.

"Ah-hem. As I was saying . . . Do you think you could manage to get her down? Don't ask how she managed it"

"You know this person?" the tour guide asked Inerus. He nodded. "Well then, let me find some ladders and-"

"That will not be necessary. Nothing will be needed," Inerus interrupted. "I can help Toremi down right now." The tourguide and Rhia watched curiously as he focused on Toremi, using the gift. Gently, Inerus lifted her down, putting all his concentration into it. When she finally landed, his face was red with struggle.

Rhia

Such an interesting gift...is it magic?

Cadra

Flying, Cadra could see a man with a huge bag over his shoulders. It could have been gold from gambling or useless junk. It was worth hoping it was the first. Swooping down, she landed right behind the man. She grabbed him, pressing her dagger against his throat.

"What's in the bag?"

Vall

"Cadra." The emotionless voice came from the side. "Leave him be." Vall muttered, stepping into view. Garhara padded up to his side.

Kaeris

She didn't know what she saw; all of a sudden there had been a girl in a watchtower, and then she floated off; landed in front of a group of people; one of whom was Rhia. Who could perform magic like that?

Point is just to meet each other but not all together, and then, big giant tournament thingy. I dunno, maybe we should wait for Sniper and Wirt? Also gives me time to think a bit more, since I haven't done the amount of planning I did for Refugees.

"Thanks, Inerus." She flashed a bright smile before adjusting her witch's cap, which had miraculously stayed on top of her head the entire time (Puyo suspected superglue) to the proper, upright position. The broom in her hand was quivering rather heavily, as if it suspected how much 'punishment' it would be receiving shortly after. "Say, I haven't seen you in . . . " She began to count on her fingers. " . . . lots of weeks! Where've they been keeping you locked up?"

~Falo~

"If you're going to rob someone, dropping out of the sky with those massive wings is a very conspicuous sort of way to do it. Most thieves skulk around in back alleys. Or hang around in taverns. I recommend smuggling myself if you really want to make some money. Anyway, you really ought to be less obvious about it." As he finished his dry lecture, Falo poured some of the contents of the bag out of the ground for Cadra's examination.

"Feel free to take the spare pistons, but leave the engine, please. I rather think it might be useful."

"What?" Cadra had thought she had put away the wings as she landed...she really needed to remember to do so. Willing them to disappear, Cadra wondered if there was a way to make her wings invisible. But...they were immune to kanji. Actually, it seemed as if those wings were impervious to any type of magic at all.

"That's all you have? Keep it. They're probably worth more to you than they are to me." She brought her dagger back to its hilt. "Go." Sighing, Cadra turned to Vall. "Maybe the best thing for me is to just enter the tournament."

Levin

"Rain! I am not a traitor!" Levin exclaimed.

"Levin, there's a countless amount of evidence proving that you are. Helping a Foreigner escape Eilfein and attacking Lord Vincent are the biggest ones, easily. Levin... I'm a mercenary. You knew that a day like this would come. I only wish it happened after my contract with Eilfein ran out," Rain said, regrettably.

Levin clutched the wound in his shoulder, and started to back away from Rain. Rain had the advantage in skill, and Levin was caught off guard by the mercenary. Rain was a tall, handsome man with short, neat blonde hair. He was currently hired into Eilfein's service by Vincent as a hitman, or sub-commander. Levin had fought a few battles alongside this man, but he always put his job before his friendship. This was proof right here.

Rain was an extremely sneaky man, even though he was covered in the same amount of armor as Levin. He could move without making a sound, and this is how Levin had gotten injured. Rain had stabbed him in the back of his shoulder after sneaking up behind him.

"Rain... you son of a bitch," Levin muttered, backing up slowly. "If Vincent sent you, he must really be serious... I'm under protection right now, and this gives Haushalt a good reason to declare war," Levin said.

"He wants you dead no matter what the cost, Levin. And it's not like Haushalt will know what happened to you if you just happened to... vanish," Rain replied with a grin.

It was with this word, Levin was running. There was little chance that he could defeat Rain in his current state, but if he could somehow get to safety... preferably into the city. Levin had been training himself outside of the city walls. There will be no more of that now. Levin was pretty sure Rain had been here for a few days, waiting for him.

Levin whipped around, drew his sword and slashed at Rain. It took less than a second for him to do this, but Rain leant back, dodged the slice, jumped into the air and kicked Levin in the side of the face, sending him sprawling to the ground.

Levin picked up his sword and quickly got to his feet and started to slowly circle around Rain.

"Levin, you've always been better than me. A better commander, a better swordsman and... a better friend. I regret these turn of events, but now it is time you realize your mistake and die for it."

Levin grinned. "Let's see what you got, Rain..."

Levin took a running dash forward, trying to stab Rain through the heart, but he was too fast. He had jumped right over Levin and landed behind him, swinging his own sword directly at Levin's neck. Levin managed to duck right before the blade had sliced his head off, kicked Rain's feet out from under him and aimed his own sword at Rain's chest... but before he could stab Rain, he felt something poking him in his own chest. Rain had already managed to regain himself, even though he was still on the ground. If Levin were to stab Rain, Rain would have enough room to stab Levin directly through the heart. Levin hesistated for just a split second, and that was all the time Rain needed. Rain spun around on the ground, kicking Levin's feet out fron under him. Levin landed right on his face, dropping his sword a few feet away from him. Rain jumped on top of Levin trying to get his knife on Levin's throat, but Levin had managed to roll onto his back and punch Rain in the face, knocking him off. Levin got to his feet, picked up his blade and began to circle Rain once more.

Rain dropped his sword on the ground beside him, and shrugged. "What are you going to do, Levin?" He asked. "All of Eilfein is keeing watch on you, and if I fail, Vincent will be the one hunting you down again... and you and I both know that you'll never be on par with him.

Levin's shoulder was bleeding much worse than before now. He felt like he was gona pass right out due to blood loss, but he kept himself as steady as he could.

Levin charged at Rain once more, feeling a lot more reckless. He stabbed right at Rain's face, but Rain simply moved his head to the side, grabbed Levin's arm, and twisted it right around, so far that Levin was forced to turn his back on Rain to lower the pain.

"You're a fool, Levin," Rain whispered into his ear. He continued to harden his grip on Levin's arm. Levin refused to shout out in pain. However, when Rain finally managed to break his arm, Levin fell to both his knees. Rain was still holding Levin's arm painfully behind Levin's back.

"It's over," Rain said, jamming his combat knife through Levin's back and into his heart. If Levin was to die though, he refused to die like this... he was gonna take Rain with him. He took his own blade and stabbed it through his own chest, so hard, that it went right through and impaled Rain through the bottom of his rib cage.

Rain shouted in pain, while Levin stood up and stared at Rain. Why wasn't Levin dying?

He pulled his own sword out of his chest, and grabbed the knife sticking out of his back. He felt like he was floating once more... it was as if he was flying.

All his wounds were healed, and life was restored back to Levin. His arm was mended, and even the holes in his chest, shoulder and back were gone. Rain was on one knee right now, holding onto his chest. Blood was pouring out, and Levin knew Rain would not survive without a healer nearby.

"What...?" Rain asked, looking up at Levin. "Wings? So the rumor was true..."

Levin did indeed have wings now. Large, white angel wings to be exact. So, he really was a descendant of Sielne...

"Levin, kill me... It's too much..."

Rain was... begging for death. Levin never expected to hear his old friend do that.

"Goodbye, Rain," Levin said, thrusting his sword straight through Rain's heart. He was dead almost instantly.
Farewell.

"What? No, you're still doing it wrong." Falo rolled his eyes as he swept the assorted pile of junk back into his sack. For goodness sakes, she hadn't even blustered with any of the usual threats. 'Say nothing or I murder you in your sleep'. Heck, she wasn't even wearing a mask to cover her face, and Falo had a reasonably good memory.

"Well, before you change your mind, I bid you and your creepy friend adieu." A capsule dropped to the ground with a loud bang and a flash, releasing a thick cloud of smoke as Falo disappeared.

"I am not too enthusiastic about this tour," Inerus admitted. "I would be glad to chat for a while."

"But-" The tour guide stopped, when the woman named Rhia brought her hand up to silence him.

You could both hop on back and we'd be away before that stuffy old man even took a second glance."

Levin

Rain was dead. Levin was alive. Levin felt a tiny bit of pain in his heart for his old ally and friend, however now was not the time to think about that. Rain had been killed by Levin, and now it was certain that Vincent, arguably the strongest swordsman in all of Eilfein was going to be sent to kill Levin himself. However, were Vincent to cross the border for such a reason, it would give Haushalt a reason to declare war on Eilfein... Levin wasn't dumb, but neither was Vincent. It was certain that Vincent had the same thing in mind.

Of course, Levin was already under protection, and were he to be killed, it would give Haushalt another reason to declare war... of course, the fact that Levin was under protection gave Eilfein a reason to declare war as well. Levin had a terrible feeling about what was gonna happen, and he was the one centered around it all. He was beginning to regret his actions. He was a traitor to Eilfein, even though he knew what he did was right.

"A good decision made for the wrong reasons is a wrong decision," Levin said to himself. Vincent was the one who told him that, long ago. Back when Vincent was simply a commander, and Levin fought under him. His decision was made for the right reasons, however. Inerus is innocent, Vincent is wrong, BookwormGamer is sexy and now Levin wasn't sure what to do. He would surely be killed as a traitor anyway, even if he were to bring Inerus back to Eilfein. Of course, such an act would be nearly impossible on his own. In fact, it was out of the question. There was no reason for him to bring Inerus back if he was going to be marked as a traitor anyway.

Levin was done thinking about this... he downed his last glass of beer and headed out into the streets to see if he could find something to keep himself occupied.
Farewell.

This festival had such a huge gathering of cattle...No, humans were below even cattle. They were only play toys. He already had his followers in the various crowds. They would move at his signal now. For the greater glory of the Wolf God, they would spill the blood of the human filth and elven filth.

Gaern

"Time to fight..." He muttered as he walked off towards the arena. He would be able to work off some the rage that constantly warred within him.

Omen

He stood in the crowd silently watching them all. Soon it would be time to vanish and find someone new to hunt.

"Excuse me. It seems another attack is imminent." He told Cadra, before vanishing into his portal, and reappearing yet again on the rooftops. He scanned the crowds, frowning.

He mumbled his familiar incantation, and Garhara appeared at his side, in it's were state and simply knelt on one knee beside him.

"Where, Garhara?" He asked. "Where are they?"

OOC: I'mma keel you Wirt. XD.

Inerus hesitated for a moment, then nodded, getting onto Toremi's broom. "And you?" he asked Rhia. She nodded, getting on.

"Rhia," she said to Toremi, "pleasure to meet you."

"Rhia. What a pretty name." She smiled brightly before leaping straight up and landing with a flound upon the very front edge of the broom, whereupon the entire thing shook for several seconds and slowly began to levitate. "You behave now. We have important guests and this one just saved you from death by being chopped into a million pieces." With a final, grudging shudder, the broom fell still as Toremi glanced back and grinned at her passengers.

"Please keep your arms and legs at your sides at all times. Drinks will be served if we pass through a raincloud. Now hold on tight!" Without any other warning, Toremi kicked off the ground hard with her feet, spiraling high up into the air. She did enjoy a bit of showing off at times . . .

"Don't worry, Inerus, Rhia. I wove a permanent sticking rune onto the flying one so you can't fall off unless you really, really try. I don't recommend it, though. Hey, what do you think he's shouting about?" Far beneath them, the tour guide was screaming something that sounded strangely like 'KIDNAP' and 'ARRESTHER'. "What does arresther mean?"

Daybreak...Keep an eye on them if you would be so kind... She asked her blade silently. The blade flared briefly, and what she came to call Daybreak's spirit came out, and followed the three. Not completely correct, Daybreak told her in a womans voice, That is only part of our collective spirit...I'm here in case we run into trouble, as I am more of the offensive side of Daybreak. The spirit that followed the group is the other side of Us that controls our defensive functions.

I really need to figure out a way to move this along now...

Rhia

"Not to worry. If the police come, my power over the authorities is greater than his, and I'll send them away."

Inerus

"Toremi, do you know where the others are?"

Darkling

"You know the plan, Darkling?" The Regent asked calmly.

"Go to the arena...Push Gaern to his limit. Don't kill him. Yes, I think I've got it." Darkling told the Regent harshly.

"Then leave...Come back when you lose."

Giving a tight nod, Darkling opened a Gateway and walked through it. He found himself in a dark alley. He rubbed his hair. As he did so his hair turned from black to a dark blonde. Then rubbing his face his skin went from pale white to a dark olive. He now resembled Caliban's long dead brother, Niko. It was a precaution so Gaern would not reconize him.

Gaern

He walked calmly into the arena and entered his name into the battle. He was quite eager to fight.

"Err . . . Not real . . . I mean, of course I do! Look, Cadra and Vall." Pointing down into the streets below, Toremi steered the broom in wide circles above the two conversing figures. "Shall we go down, then? Look out below!"

They dropped.

((OOC: Vall left. >_>))

Kaeris

Now she was left confused. She had seen a magic like none other, and just as she wanted to ask who or what happened, Rhia was there as well. And to add to that, they flew off on a broom together, with some other person, and now Kaeris was left listening to the bickerings and rants of people trying to get them back.

Frustrated, she lashed out at the nearest official, knocking him out. That seemed to put everyone else in a stunned state, and she simply walked off.

Her ears twitched slightly and she heard Gaern's name. She smiled. Well, watching him would be more fun than having to listen to this shit, anyway.

Vall

"There?" Vall pointed, down at the arena. "Garhara...." Vall muttered, but the wolf had soon disappeared. Sighing he opened a portal from the roof to simply the ground below, appearing in front of, but having his back turned to Darkling. He hadn't even noticed Darkling's presence.

"Toremi? Inerus?" Cadra greeted as they flew down. As Inerus stepped down from the broom, Cadra leaped at him, tackling the defenseless man. "I want all of the precious crap the mayor has been giving you! All of it, right now!" She was waving a dagger in front of his face.

"Sounds like someone's been lonely." She commented conversationally as Puyo landed on top of her head. "I'm really not sure that's a very good way to be reacquainting yourselves with each other, though. Fighting is one of the first steps to consummation of love, you know."

"I nearly got myself killed trying to help this son of a bitch!" Cadra screamed. "Several times! And after all this, not one single reward, not even a-"

"Thank you," Inerus said. Cadra blinked.

"What?"

"I never got the chance to thank you for helping me."

"Oh...well that's different," Cadra muttered, settling on just stealing the gold ring Inerus had been given. She slipped it into her pockets. He probably wouldn't even miss the thing, with his Possession rules and all that. "So, what has everyone been up to?" she asked, getting off of Inerus. "And who's that?" She pointed to the woman with the blond hair holding herself in a very regal manner.

"Oh, gee, now that you mention it . . . " She had been pretty much ignored, too. "But that's OK. We still have each other, right?" Toremi latched on to Cadra and Inerus affectionately as Puyo rolled his eyes in the background. "Oh, yes! This is Rhia, another visitor to Haushalt. She was with Inerus when I picked him up."

"Princess Rhia?" Cadra exclaimed. "A pleasure to meet you! I had heard of your arrival but have not seen you until today!" She curtsied incredibly low and when she rose back up, a key or something (it looked valuable) was in her pockets.

Darkling

Darkling smelled the air before he turned around. That necromancer...And that second-rate copy of that old werewolf I killed... He went over the possible options in his head. One he could pull out his gun and blow the back of his head off. Two he could open a Gateway in front of him that went to some god forsaken rock in the sea, and kick him through it. Three he could just beat the shit out of him, and turn that werewolf into a shag carpet. Or four, just walk the other way. Choices...Choices...

Darkling! Came the Regents voice in his head. Leave him...Gaern is your assignment.

But he could get in my way, Darkling pointed out.

If he does...Fight him, but do not use a Gateway. That will tip others off to your presence

Yeah yeah... He thought. The Regents presense in his mind vanished as he walked passed Vall. His hand resting gently on the handle of his gun.

"Our guests are not here yet...find them!" the mayor ordered his guards. "Be forceful about it but do no physical harm. Just find them and bring them here!" This is my chance to move up in the ranks...

Vall

When Darkling walked past him, a chill went up his spine. Cold, like ice, he froze in the sheer aura that he gave off.

Garhara growled, but Vall simply waved a hand and the werewolf had been dismissed.

"What are you planning?" Vall asked, going to follow him. But as soon as he'd taken a good look around, Darkling was gone, leaving Vall alone yet again.

He looked around the streets for any sign, but found none.

Darkling

He finished up his run, and walked into the arena where he signed up. Caliban had been fast, Darkling was faster, and the combonation was little short of a horse running. As he walked around the arena, he spotted Gaern getting ready for his first match. His eyes locked onto a lean man with black hair, and red eyes. The werewolf. This would make things interesting...But it could also mean trouble, the wolfs sense of smell could blow his cover. He was the only person in the world that had a human, Auphe, and banshee smell coming off of him.

Gaern

He came out to fight. It would seem his oppenent was a man in his middle years, brown hair hung down to his shoulders, and his blue eyes gleamed with an almost insane glee.

The match began, and he closed distance with the man fast. He had just drawn his sword when one of his hands latched onto his arm. Gaern half bent his knees and broke the mans balance. He hurled him at the wall as hard as he could. The mans head collided with the stone wall, and he heard an audible crunch. Both the wall, and the mans skull were cracked. Gaern walked back and waited for his next match. He hoped it wouldn't be as dissappointing.
