Favorite fantasy class?

I'm not sure if this belongs in the debate forum, but...

Anyway, is there a type of fantasy class do you prefer to play as, or often find yourself favoring above the others? Personally, I like cleric-type characters who have decent skill at fighting and healing.

You mean Final Fantasy class, or just...any sort of character class?

Anyways, I like the ones with abilities that are absurdly powerful if used correctly. Like calculators.

Great. Now your trainer has to go all the way back to the Pokemon Center. Do you know when he saved last? I sure hope you're happy.

I just meant any character class, whether it's used in Final Fantasy or not.

I suppose I prefer the straight-up fighter type--something about the idea of being honorable or courageous in a game really appeals to me.

Mmhh............I like the idea of a healer who also knows how to put up a fight.

Any animal rider (Dragon, Horse, Pegasus, chicken, etc.) with a lance or an axe.

Or the typical fighter that can totally own you with his/her fists only. A monk of sorts.

My favorite would be the Holy Magic type classes like Colette in Tales of Symphonia. They get to say really cool sounding speeches before lightning falls from heaven and kills people. >_>

EDIT: Oh! I almost forgot Summoners. Second most awesome. Then comes Dragoon types.

I'm a versatile person in real life, but I hate having to do all the dirty work myself (not saying I can't)

Therefore, I choose versatile characters who aren't always the frontline, or the main frontline person. Ninjas, Thieves, Rangers all come to mind; since they usually have skills to hinder or cripple people.

I also like Attack Mages, since they come with crippling spells as well; able to change any situation. Or Healers, since they support the party, and Buffers, since they come with abilities to boost regeneration, statistics, or morale and stuff.

I hate just being there to swing my sword. I Need something to do. Warriors/Monk types don't appeal to me, since they're just beefy damage dealers. >_>.

Cool. Wight, my hero, knows about Tales of Symphonia XD (never thought anyone did.. MY HOPE IS RESTOREDED!)

I myself prefer mages who can do stuff like.. 'INDIGNATION!' (Really REALLY painful spell in Tales of Symphonia.) But normally, if I'm playing an RPG with someone, I'm the White Mage (Cleric) for them.. they are tanks ftw?

Meh. That's definitely true for 4th gen (Infernape is a monster), but 3rd gen (Mudkipz, loelz), second gen (Typhlosion is probably the worst starter of em all), and first gen (Blastoise is better, dammit!) all say hi.

Blaziken isn't too great. It's got a nice movepool and great attacking stats, but it's speed is average and it has poor defenses as well as typing that has lots of weaknesses. Unless you BP speed to it or something, it's likely that it'll die before getting a solid hit off.

Typhlosion is pretty bad. It's got fairly good speed and special attack, but learns special attacks in a whopping TWO types, fire and fighting (sans hyper beam and hidden power). It's physical movepool isn't great either.

Charizard is probably second best of the fire starters, and has a fairly good movepool. His stats are like Typhlosion, but he gets a much bigger movepool to play with and isn't weak to ground, one of the most common attack types ever. With his fairly good speed, he can also make decent use of Belly Drum.

Being a dual type, yes, Blaziken does have a fair amount of weaknesses, but with dual-type comes quite a few strengths. Typhlosion, though, I can't say much about since when I played 2nd gen I had barely any idea of what I was doing. I do admit that its movepool is phail, though.

I dunno, in the third-gen, IIRC, Typhlosion got the elemental punches, which I thought helped it a lot. It's not great, but I don't think it's that bad.

Charizard = pwn. Not just because it's a decent Pokemon, but because it's like the coolest Pokemon ever.
