Gaern "I was found abandoned on the steps of a church when I was six." He said, "What happened before then, who my parents were, where I was raised, I can't remember. All I know is that I have demonic and angelic blood in me. They work with and against each other, and they generate power." |

Rhia "Both of you...GET OUT!" Rhia screamed, her eyes glowing white, as a yellow aura emanated from her body. Light shot out from her body, pouring out of her. It drowned the White Seraph, who gave a cry of surprise before vanishing. Having spent the last of her energy, everything went black again for Rhia... Deyus "How shall we heal her wound?" |

~Falo~ "That great soldier oaf drank up the last of my extremely expensive healing potion when he was supposed to pour one drop on his wound." Evidently, he was still rather bitter about that. "I don't use magic. Kaeris and Gaern are both out of commission. And the White Seraph is more an enemy than a friend. Unless anybody else can use healing magic, it might be up to Rhia to heal herself." Falo bent over beside her body. "Gunshot wound. Let's hope the bullet passed through cleanly without injuring any major organs. And that it's not still stuck in there." |

Motherless sons of a... Tarnan continued to push his horse as the startled riders fled into the night. Damn, how many were there, four, seven, nine, a dozen? Can't let them get away, or we'll be repeating this every night until we lose. Tarnan saw something move off in the trees to his right, and there were sounds. Slowing his horse down, he moved as quietly as he could through the underbrush to the sounds. He resisted his urge to cheer as he realized the patrol ahd made his job much easier by regrouping. It looked like quite a few of them were bruised and broken. There was a healer with them, who was fixing them up...couldn't let that happen. Tarnan remounted and spurred his horse. The startled soilders looked up as the mercenary charged through the group, slashing and hacking blindly at those on his left. He quickly turned his horse about and charged again, cutting at the last wounded soldiers as the man healing them jumped out of the way. Tarnan dismounted as walked towards the healer, looking as menacing as he could. "Is this everyone?" he asked. The healer, who looked like they were about to faint, nodded. "...Sorry about this. If it's any consolation, I think I might not have killed all of them," Tarnan muttered. "And I'm sorry about this, too," he added as he knocked the man over the head with the flat of his blade. He picked the unconcious priest up and flung him over the horse, then headed back to the road. |

Wight, my hero,, there's no bullet in there. Bullets are magical energy, remember? Deyus "Damn it...is there anyone here besides Rhia that knows how to heal? Anything at all?!" He couldn't let the mission fail...there was such a high pay in this one, that he could retire forever if he wished. |

Tarnan rode his horse farther down the road, not sure where Rhia had fallen off her horse. The mage was starting to wake up, and things could get bad if he got away. Finally he spottesd the group. Riding over and dismounting, he looked grimly at the bleeding princes before grabbing the mage off of the horse. "Hey, guys, look, I found a medicene chest with legs!" |

Shu The others had caught up with the princess, but the pursuers were stil there, yet not chasing, something was up. Shu hurt like Hell, all over, there was no way he should be doing this, in fact, there were many ble bodied people that should be doing this, but Rhia apparently needed and entire contigent watching over her while noone actually dealt witht he pursuers. They had flanked out, which seemed odd, they had to know where she was, and they had the advantage, what with the guns and magic and all. Still, they saw a flare of light and split up...Shu just couldn't see the strategy in it. Then it hit him. An energy-bullet, that is. it wasn't too powerful, but it knocked him over, this guy was a good shot, Shu was high up, well, not so much now that he was falling, but still. (I've noticed my chars have a habit of just taking repeated beatings) Shu hit a few branches on the way down, hitting his sore spots, of course. Shu made a note to stay lower in the trees next time. He landed on his feet, kinda, he did a roll, to save himself the major damage, and looked around. There was no moon, it was pitch black out here, and the trees didn't help. Shu had a stupid idea. he grabbed around for a ball and pulled out his black one. He tossed itout and a few seconds later, it let out a flash of light and a thunderous roar, also it destroyed everything within 30 feet of it. There, Shu say him, the bastard who shot him, lining up another shot, with the light of the fire, though, Shu dodged it...painfully, he was still sore. He tosed a knife and it connected with the shooter's wrist, he had a mage with him, probably casting a light spell, but he was casting something else now, but he wasn't too long, a second knife flew into his throat, he ugrgled a while, but by the time Shu had made it over tere, he was dead. There were others around here, but Shu wasn't too concerned, the way they spread out at the last fire, he was probably good here. "Now." Shu took his knife back from the mage as the gunner was beginning to get up and threw it square at his Achilles tendon. He then awalke over and kicked the gunner in the stomach. "Let's talk about your mission." A shot, Shu dropped, but he wasn't the target, when he got up, he saw a hole in his new friends forehead. He was so looking forward to the torture, too. He looked around, but he couldn't make out anything in the distance. He grabed his knives outof the recent corpse and made his way back, there was nothing left to do here, he'd just wind up dead. |

As Deyus held his guns point-blank to the mage's forehead as he healed Rhia, he looked around. "Where's that jester, Shu? He's the one Rhia nearly got killed over trying to find..." "Done." Deyus fired at the mage's head without a second thought. "Now for her to wake up...how are we going to cross the border into Haushalt again?" |

((Sorry. A lapse of several months tends to have a negative effect on my memory. And sensei, I think we already chased them all away in previous posts.
:P )) ~Falo~ "What the hell was that for?" Falo's voice was sharp as he caught the body of the man before it hit the ground. "That was a healer, if you didn't notice him saving the princess's life. They aren't exactly high priority targets, nor are they threatening opponents. For heaven's sakes, we're trying to show that the princess is the one in the right; random acts of murder don't help the cause." |

Shu Shu took the scenic route back, scouting for other attackers as he made his way, limping along, carrying his little souvenir along with him. Interesting little weapon though he didn't e a need for it. He had never seen a gun with diffeent settings before, stun, hurt, kill, explode, phase, and another without a name. It was different, anyways. All was relatively quiet, apperently they were leaving, maybe they were only a scouting party, who knew. Shu would have, had he gotten his torture, but fun was rare lately. He found th group, Rhia was still out, and he was relatively unnoticed, she looked so helpless, she'd have to get stronger, but her life was pretty pampered...Shu didn't care, or at least, he didn't want to. He saw Falo standing by the princess and tossed him the gun. "Here, boy, a present. You an have some fun with it, I imagine." |

~Falo~ "If you didn't notice, whole hordes of soldiers have escaped in clear view of our current location. Last time I checked, one more running man didn't make the difference between life and death." His tone was still harshly disapproving as he laid the man down lightly upon the ground. "Anyway, there's nothing to do about it now. Thanks, Shu." He didn't bother asking how the jester had managed to get ahold of the gun before pocketing it. "Deyus brings up a point. They've all seen where we are; it'd be foolish to remain here unless we want an ambush raid in the middle of the night. I suggest we load up the princess, Kaeris, Gaern, and Shu onto the horses." |

Owned. I also got control of Gaern too through PM's. >_>. Kaeris / Gaern Her wounds still hadn't healed fully; her body still sore. She was able to keep conciousness however, while riding the horse, and thus she led the group to a small mountain pass, surrounded by plains. "I've never even heard of this route before... you sure this is where we want to be right now?" Gaern asked. Kaeris nodded. Gaeris growled. "Here comes the welcoming party." He added. Kaeris looked forward, to see at least a dozen bandits, a few on horseback, approaching them. And they didn't show signs of slowing down. "Don't even try to steal from us; we're not your common travelers!" Kaeris yelled. A few heads shot up to look at her, and urged the others to slow down. Kaeris rode forward a little to meet the bandits, and mostly to get out of earshot. --- "What are you doing here?" "None of your business. We're passing through." "What, can't say hi to your old buddies?" "No, and you're not my buddies." "Aw, come on, if you want safe passage, you'd better act like it." "... I'm tired of listening to you." "Listen, laguz girl, he's just trying to be nice. Now ride back with your friend and we'll lead you to our camp for some rest." "How about you meet the end of my fist?" "How about you shut up, cause you have no real choice?" "..." --- Kaeris rode back to the group, and smiled. "They've offered us a place to sleep for tonight, and supplies. And don't ask them where they got it either, otherwise they'll probably take yours too." |

Kaeris "... Don't make it obvious. If you show you distrust them, they'll distrust you." Kaeris muttered, as they started to enter the bandit encampment. And whatever you do... don't ask how I know them." |

Shu Huh, leaving Xenzin, looked like he could keep his promise after all. These bandits were small-time though. Their stash of good's wasn't near as valuable as the items in Shu's pockets and rucksack. Speaking of, maybe he'd find Rhia now that she was feeling better and get her to help him figure out what they were about. He went through his stuff, making sure to put the stuff with the royal symbol off to the side, he didn't need her knowing he stole it from her family. she was talking with that gunman, and the laguz girl. Heh, a worm and a cat. It would have been better if she was a bird, but you can't pick your amusing moments. In any case, he didn't feel too bad about breaking up conversations. "Princess, a moment of your time, if you'd please!" Shu thought that was formal enough, or it'd have to be, he hated talking all proper. |

Gaern Ugh...There's something around here thats keeping me from healing completely. Something is canceling my efforts out. He thought with a grimace. But as long as we keep moving I'll be able to put distance between whatever it is. He looked around, green eyes blazing, trying to figure out where exactly the source of the thing was. His eyes locked behind the entire group as he saw a black haired man smile, than vanish. It was the same guy who beat the shit out of him a few days earlier. |

Kaeris "... No. It's not something as pristine and clean as a princess like you should know." Kaeris muttered. "Princess, a moment of your time, if you'd please!" Someone called. Kaeris sighed. "Looks like you're needed. I've got to talk to a few people around here, anyway. Don't wait up." Kaeris muttered. She walked past Shu, and slowed down a bit. "Idiot. Say she's a princess out loud any longer and these bandits will look past what protection I offer and take just about everything we have, and leave you all for dead." Kaeris muttered, as she passed. She then headed off into the familiar caves. --- "So you're back?" "... Thank you for the hospitality." "No need to be so kind, Kaeris." A hand travelled down her hair slightly, and she shivered. "Scared?" "..." "You know what little I need for safe passage. You gave it before." "..." "Off with it." And with that, Kaeris shed a single tear and started to disrobe. OOC: O_o. |

Darkling "What have you seen of Gaern's power so far, Darkling?" The Regent asked as he moved a pawn on the chess board. "He's growing stronger. He can shatter barriers now. It's only a matter of time before he comes into his other strengths." Darkling replied with a bored tone. "Have you seen anything that has been constant in Gaern's battles? Something we can link with his increasing power?" "Rage. In fights rage overcomes him and makes him fight much harder than normal." "Perfect...That means the demon blood in him is the stronger right now...Leave now, keep a watch on Gaern from afar. Far away from that sword though. That sword could destroy you in a heartbeat if you are fool enough to be in range." Darkling bowed his head, and vanished in a Gate. |

Tarnan sighed as he sat down on a log. It seemed like every second he was with this group, they wiped their ass with what was left of his dignity. He'd soiled his name by betraying his employer, then stomped on it again by joining the group he was supposed to be capturing, passed up a million opportunities to kill them in their sleep, then slaughtered a patrol that he could have worked with to restore his good name, and now he was consorting with bandits so that he could help this damnable princess. But for what? Even if she did survive, what would he do? No employer would trust him now that he shown that he was capable of switching sides to suit his morals, even if by some miracle, his height wasn't worth a thousand gold a pound. He couldn't think of any other skills he had. Suddenly, he grabbed a rock and threw it as far he could. It didn't help the situation but it made him feel better. |

Gaern When the black haired man vanished, Gaern felt his energy course through him faster. After a few more moments he felt completely healed. Deciding to test this, he uncased his wings and took flight. He didn't care that the people saw him anymore. They knew that he had them. Even if they didn't know exactly what he was. Once he had gotten above the clouds, he aknowledged he was fully healed, and ready for when trouble began brewing. Something strange happened then, when his black wing touched one of the clouds, it became black too. There was the loud sound of thunder, and then it began raining. Torrents of rain. Not wanting to make any more storm clouds, Gaern pulled his wings back in and plummeted towards the earth. A few inches above the tree line, he pulled them out and stopped himself from being impaled on the trees. He glided down from there. |

~Falo~ "Almost . . . I wonder if there's any real purpose to this. Why do I bother?" He was standing, fairly alone, by the side of a large crevasse within the earth some distance away from his fellows. Of course, he was perfectly aware of the bandit that had decided to follow him for safety reasons several dozen yards away. Falo didn't particularly mind. The one possession he had received from his father . . . He rolled it over in his hands, as if its touch could bring back the man who had left his life so long ago. He had never tried to play the flute, deciding for whatever reason, that he did not deserve the honor. |

Shu "Hmm, she was angry, he had better take this in another direction. "Rhia, I need your help with something, but first we clearly have some matters to discuss." Shu had different methods than most people, it was about to show. At least no bandits were within earshot, unless any sjhouting took place, which it very well might. "Firstly, you seem to think I owe you something, as though I had never risked my life for you, if you want to make it to Haushalt, in one piece, that is, you should stop holding yourself up on a pedestal. You're the heir to a throne that no longer really exists, and you won't find too many people who sympathise with you. You're damn lucky to have as many guards as you do." Shu took a breath. Rhia looked like she wanted to say something, but Shu wanted to finish first. "Secondly, I imagine you've been very busy worrying about your future, too busy to notice the growing disatisfaction around here. Look around, for the most part, we haven't exactly been developping a huge sense of comradery. These people are out here doing this very hard, very non-paying job, all for your sake, and what gratitude do you show? "You give orders like you're still a princess, and we're all your subjects, and you haven't even considered what helping you means for the futures of all us, or had you just assumed you'd make your way back to the throne? Unless that extremely unlikely event occurs, these people have been or will be blacklisted by every employer out there." Shu took a big breath, resumed his calm demeanor, and tried again. "So, can you give me a hand, please?" |

Kaeris "How long will you be staying?" "Too long. We're leaving as soon as possible." "Come now, Kaeris, don't be like that." "..." "Will I get to see you again before you leave?" "..." [I hope not...] "Fine. Whatever. Guards! Take her back to their little encampment!" Kaeris was dragged unceremoniously by her clothes, and she stumbled. She didn't have to do this, right? They could have just walked through, camped and... She resisted the urge to cry. This wasn't a place for weakness, or else... there'd be more than just one... |

"You little-" Rhia stopped herself before she could strike Shu with a sphere of light. Taking a breath, she assessed the situation. There was no time to be fighting, and Shu's words did have truth about them, even if it was put in a blunt, harmful way. Calming herself down, Rhia nodded. "What do you need help with?" |

Shu Holy shit that worked. shu patted himself on the back, and made a note to state the obvious in an angry fashion more often. "Well, I've recently acquired a few magical relics, but I can't figure out most of them, I know this one let's me go through walls, and this one kinda glows and hovers a bit, but I don't know too much beyond that about these." Shu pulled out the ter seven without the royal seal on them, and handed a couple to the princess. "I know you have abilities, and well, you're the only one I really trust around here." OoC: Book, do what you want, there's no specific purpose for any of them as of yet, cept the floaty one. |

I'll make it up as Igo along. Well, I might have a purpose for a few of them later on... Rhia She analyzed all seven, not uttering a single magical word or making a hand gesture yet. Rhia preferred to save magic for the harder tests, in case trinkets had charms placed on them to prevent too many spells cast on them to examine them. "Well..." Rhia picked up three of them, all keys. "I have no idea what these open, but the keys are leaving traces of magic with them. They've been used before then, in a heavily magical place." She closed her eyes, trying to place any hints about the traces of magic. "I think the trace is mainly composed of fire magic. Can I keep these? I may be able to determine where they open later." WIthout waiting for an answer, she pocketed them, turning to the other four. "This ring, this one's easy. It allows you to change your appearance and gender, and it does a very quick, believable job. All you have to do is imagine what you want to be, and the next second, you become it. However, it's unstable, so you should never be in any form but your original for longer than a day, unless you want to permanently change. Hm...I think what this box is, when you open it, it starts recording whatever sounds it hears. So open it, speak your message, close it, and then get the message heard next time you open it. So there's two left... That headband over there allows you to listen to others' thoughts. Very useful, as you can direct the headband's magic to whoever you want to listen on to. And it even lets you store your own thoughts and memories into it, so you can give it to someone else, and they see them. Just, remember, anyone with magical training will realize when you are using it, as it oozes magic. And the final one... It is a very powerful tool. That gauntlet allows you to forcibly extract thoughts, memories, hopes, fears, anything abstract, out of a person. And if you wish, you can choose to crush it, so they will never remember or have it again. So you could remove someone's fear of spiders, or take out their joy in life...but the gauntlet has a life of its own, its own thoughts...you have to impose your will on it, and it may betray you at any time, after your first use of it." Rhia looked at Shu. "Where did you get these?" |

Kaeris Kaeris arrived back at the spot where the others had been around; though she realised few had actually stayed. She walked into the small area they'd been designated; a cave and its general surroundings, and walked into the back of the cave, finding a lamp and a bundle of straw laid out to be a bed. She lay on the bundle of straw, and sighed, curling up into a little ball. He tail curled around her, shielding, protecting. She stifled a sob as she tried to force herself back to sleep. |

Keldia watched as Kaeris tearfully made her way into the cave. She has suffered for you all, Daybreak remarked as they observed her. Keldia nodded, thinking she would have to tell Rhia to be a bit kinder to Kaeris from now on, or at least more civil. |
