~Falo~ "Hmm. Generous sort." He kept his tone carefully neutral as the gold pouch vanished as quickly as it had appeared. A minor setback that he hadn't taken the coin with the magical 'bug' placed upon it, but Falo was sure there would be some way to sneak it to him later. "The Grand Freedom Festival, you see?" He frowned slightly. "Can't say I've heard of that." |

So they are going to Haushalt...perfect. "You don't know what the Grand Festival of Freedom is? Don't you know your history of how Haushalt was founded?" Deyus asked. |

Apparently, they hadn't heard me, so I decided to forget about introducing myself to this new person. I looked at the one they falled Falo, and tipped my hat. "I'd appreciate it if you would allow me to pay the fare," I said quietly, almost reverting back to Japanese again in my joy. |

~Falo~ "Can't say I'm very well up in history." He responded with a shrug. It's not like I'm actually from around here . . . "Oh! It's you -- This is the man I was telling you about earlier." Falo explained to Deyus. "And that's alright; he doesn't seem to want any pay." |

Deyus turned back to Falo. "The Grand Festival of Freedom...it begins on the day that Haushalt broke free from Xenzin, becoming a new free nation. At first, it served only as a means of celebration, a single holiday in Haushalt, but it has grown. Ever since Haushalt has become interested in building bridges between the nations, the leaders and other high-ranking officials of countries have been invited to attend a council. Nowadays, the Grand Festival only ends when the meetings have finished. Usually, it takes a week, sometimes even a month. But the true Grand Festival is only the first day. From then on, it is just a name to keep track of how long it has been since the meetings have begun. I wish to attend it, as this year, a great tournament is being held." |

~Falo~ "I see." Lyorr, he was glad, shared his suspicions about Deyus, although Falo kept that emotion to himself. Hopefully, he wasn't overdoing the 'jolly helpful old chum' act. "Well . . . Keldia, shall we be off?" |

Ten minutes later at the horse area...thing. Keldia She started going through the horses. A gelding for Rhia...A destrier for me...And perhaps a destier for Deyus...The rest...I think can work with geldings. {OOC: Destier or however you spell them are warhorses, trained to bite and kick enemies, geldings are more tempermental.} |

~Falo~ "I'll pass. The ground will do fine for me." He hadn't slept on a bed in 6 months. Why ruin the record? So he had bid the princess goodnight and headed out to the stables, to examine the horses that Keldia and Deyus had bought. The two destriers, he assumed, were for those whose armored bodies were too heavy for the common horse. Or else Princess Rhia was entertaining the delusion that she could actually ride one of those. And the rest . . . ? "Figures. Think the rest of us can't handle a spirited stallion. But you guys aren't of a bad sort, hmm?" He had always gotten along fairly well with the creatures -- perhaps because he had spent almost as much time in their company as with his actual family when he had been growing up. As each nickered and nosed at him in turn, Falo gently rubbed their muzzles before turning to pick up a rough brush hanging from the table. "Guess I'll spend the night here . . . " |

Hmm, curious. I had wandered into the stables to examine the horses, but I instead discovered that man, Falo, once again. It was almost as if I were riveted to his person. Of course, I disliked him, but whom was there that I didn't dislike amongst that group? Aside from the celeric cleric, of course, but that was only because she never spoke. If she did, I am sure I would have grown dislike for her, as well. A large part of the reason for my dislike was that I was forced to use a formal tongue while among them. I had given that aire when I had first encountered Catwoman, and, had I transitioned suddenly, I would have been thought false, which could only lead to trouble. I had no particular reason for staying with them, however, other than that I needed to seem as inconspicuous as was possible, at least for the next few days. Slowly approaching the unsuspecting clown, I addressed him politely, "Konnichiwa." I had not intended to speak to him in Japanese, but a simple greeting couldn't hurt, after all. It was no different from 'hello,' as far as I was concerned--an attention-getter, more or less. My eyes drifted over to the horses. Marvelous creatures. |

~Falo~ "Ah! . . . Hello." After a single startled jump, Falo turned back to the horses and continued to brush its coat down slowly and gently. "Lyorr, wasn't it? I guess I'm not the only one who prefers sleeping outdoors." He held no particular like or dislike towards this man, especially as he hadn't spoken much more than a few words. But . . . Throwing away all sense of propriety as he occasionally did, Falo out and spoke bluntly, "I'm sorry to be rude, but . . . If you don't mind my saying so, it's a bit unsettling to try conversation with somebody who speaks so high above you." He had no idea what Konnichiwa meant. But he supposed it was some sort of high-falutin' way of saying 'hello'. |

High...? Well, I had learned, through my years at The Cage, much more about language than most anyone else I knew, but having 'Konnichiwa' referred to as a 'high word' struck me as immediately odd. The disquiet was momentary, however, for at once I smiled at him--or, what I could manage of a smile, at the least--and nodded my head. "My apologies, sir," I said. The situation had manifested itself into a favorable one for me. Naturally, Falo's assumption that 'Konnichiwa' was an ingredient of language that belonged solely to the upper class and their sophistry served to reinforce and supplement my behavior. Proving false would not be something I needed to worry about--at least not around him. If I found myself in a situation where I accidentally reverted to informality, I would merely need to speak once more in Japanese, and that would be that. "You...have a fascination with horses, I see." I said quietly, walking over and patting one on the side. Somehow the creature seemed to like me, and whinnied and pranced about on its forelegs at my touch. Mm. I have never found as much love as I do from animals. Especially horses and cows. For some strange reason, even the wildest of stallions is sensitive to my hand. |

~Falo~ Feeling a bit relieved that Lyorr hadn't taken great offense at his words (gentlemen and aristocrats were usually fairly touchy), Falo nodded his head at Lyorr's words. "As do you, it appears." He smiled gently and reached one hand up to cup the horse's nose. "Although, I wouldn't call it a fascination. Just respect. Horses have a good deal more sense than we silly humans do, I believe. I wonder sometimes whether I ought to have stayed on with my father, find a respectable job as a rancher and horse breeder." |

Deyus was on the rooftoops, puzzling over which one of them was the worm. If any of them were, none of them were keen on letting it be known...as the gates opened, Deyus came back to reality, aware of his surroundings. The gate opening? Letting someone in? No...some people. The army, damn it. They want to kill Rhia, not capture her. Deyus looked towards the next rooftop. Leaping among the rooftops was too hard in his armor; he had climbed up this abandoned building, but being on the road would attract attention. Damn it, I'll have to wait after they reach the inn. Rhia "I didn't eat yet...Keldia, I'll be going downstairs." |

Keldia "Damn it...Can't we just have one peaceful night?" She groaned to herself as she shifted her grip on her blades and searched for a way out. Get back to the room Rhia, we're taking the window. Gaern He beat his wings into the air briefly, then shot into the air. As he flew, he muttered his spell, and his hands began to glow. One bright white, the other the darkest black. He flew as hard as he could to the town again. |
