"A ship?" Cadra asked. "We're in the middle of Eilfein, and we'll be shot trying to go over the river. But once we get into Haushalt...no war territory, only arena battles allowed. We're safe once we're there."

"It would certainly be a detour, however, we'll no longer be in Eilfein territory. If we fly no flag, we won't be attacked upon arrival as well. We could also disguise ourselves as simple merchants."
Farewell.

"They'll be watching the ships," Cadra answered. "I still say we break through here. As soon as our bodies are on the other side, we're safe. She watched as the soldiers screamed, imps lodging themselves on their heads. "I say we go now."

He stood smiling at the little imps' efforts, but soon found them being shot at by archers. Not good; direct hits would make them run away back to their dimension. He ran forward at the archers; who immediately looked at him, as he rose his hand.

"Goddess Lea, give unto me thy divine Aegis!" Vall chanted, as his hands glowed a serene white, and a translucent barrier appeared over him, blocking a wide area from the arrows.

"Now would be a very good time to run." He thought, sending the message to Cadra.

Lea: Okay! *runs and falls from a cloud down to Avilas*

Cadra

"Alright, let's get through!" Cadra ordered. She decided to give a test run of her wings as well, letting them open as she skimmed the grass as Cadra sped across the ground. Quite a few soldiers dropped dead of shock, especially those who fell off the wall.

Inerus

Inerus kept along with the others. There will be trials.

Cadra made it in before anyone else. She smirked; the exit was just in front of her. As she headed towards it, halfway through a wall sprang in front of her. Startled, Cadra flew to the left, veering off course. And into another wall! That hadn't been there before...Cadra turned once again, right into a wall.

This time, she smashed right into it, and dropped down, straight through the floor. Illusions? Cadra thought as she fell into the basement, too tired to fly.

Inerus

"Where is Cadra?"

"Unless the soldiers have another demon employed in their service to play mind games, I doubt the traps are anywhere near dangerous enough to actually stop us." The cat fluttered towards the same wall that had sprung up in front of Cadra, flying right through it. "See? Nothing but cheap parlor -- "

"Puyo, look out!" A slab of rock suddenly sprang up from the floor, smashing the cat straight through the not-so-solid ceiling. "Umm . . . From now on, I vote we move as a group."

Inerus

"How do we find Cadra?" Inerus asked. "Is there a way to locate her? Or do we explore the place until she is found?" As he walked, he tripped, falling but not reaching the ground. Most of his body was suspended in the air. "A platform?" Getting back up, he stepped on it, feeling around.

"An invisible stairway..."

Cadra

Scribbling a kanji she knew by heart in the dark with her blood, Cadra activated it. Light immediately lit the whole room brightly. A vast chamber filled with gold and treasure. With a broad grin, she dove into a pile of coins. As she resurfaced, she saw something nearby that caught her eye, a massive diamond. When she tried to get out of the coins, though, Cadra noticed her body wouldn't budge.

Then, she sunk through, swallowed by the wealth.

"That way?" Inerus repeated. "You seem to be pointing straight down at the floor...is there a basement in this fortress?"

Cadra

As she sank into the gold, Cadra did everything she could to force herself back up. But there was no point. No matter how much resistance and effort she put into it, she could not escape the gold, slipping underneath the surface completely. Quickly, Cadra activated a kanji on her right forearm, to supply her free air. It was a good thing she had thought of that earlier...

Focusing, Cadra tried to bring up her wings. But it was no use. The atmosphere poured out the energy of the element of Earth, counteracting her wings or anything associated with Air. Damn it!

Looking around, Cadra saw plenty of gold coins that were glowing, all with faces imprinted on them. They were all different people, none famous figures she recognized. And where the date the coin was made should have been, there were two years...and a name, and another number.

These were people...people, who, it seemed, had died before a usual age. And the last number...1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th- this place had killed them!

Then Cadra's eyes fell upon another coin, one with her face and name on it. The year she was born was also there, but not yet a death date. Underneath, it said, 24th.

"Maybe..." Inerus muttered, placing his hands on the stones. Focusing, Inerus concentrated on forcing bricks to move out of where they were. Slowly, as he moved stone out, he created a gap wide enough for a moderately sized person to fall in. As he finished, Inerus wiped sweat from his forehead.

Cadra

The gold began shining, until it was so bright, Cadra could see nothing but a gold flash consuming her. As it finally dimmed down and Cadra could open her eyes, she found herself in a very familiar setting. This must be an illusion...

Well that works too. He thought as he took a look down the gap. He took out his exploding arrow and replaced it with a normal one. He popped a vial from his coat and poured a black tarry substance on the arrow head. Omen struck a piece of flint at the head of the arrow and it caught on fire. He shot it down the gap to lighten the path up some.

He took off his shoulder plates, as they were just barely too big to allow Levin into the hole and dropped them on the ground.

Inerus

As Inerus slipped down, he could no longer find Omen or Levin, both who fell down before him. Where have they gone? Taking a look around, Inerus realized where he was.

"I'm home." As he stared at the house that he had lived in, he walked forward to open the door. Turning the knob, he fell into an almost dream-like state, opening the way back into home. How did I get here?

(In case you didn't realize it yet, people fall into their separate illusions here.)

Cadra

The street I used to live on... Cadra thought, looking around. Same weather as that day...

He was in the forest where his parents left him for dead. He knew this was an illusion. "It's impossible for that gap to teleport me here..." There was a rasping voice behind him, "The general with the crooked smile is lost to you forever..."

Vall

Vall nodded, and simply turned around, sitting on the ground. He was half hidden by darkness, and didn't really care; he didn't want to fall into any sort of illusion-inducing place anyway.

Yes, he knew. He could sense it all too well. And nothing was worth going back into his past. Something he'd forgotten, and never wanted to remember.

He mumbled quietly, and soon his trusted werewolf came forth from a glyph, and sat beside him in its wolf state. Vall motioned the wolf closer. so he could have hot sex with it

"Keep me awake, eh?" He muttered. Garhara howled and lay prone beside him, and Vall looked back out onto the horizon.

Levin had said that Vincent would follow them. And with everyone trapped in their illusions... or delusions, Vall was the only one left to surmount a defense... He let out a tisk, and shook his head.

Not that Vincent could do anything to him, anyway.

Leon

Leon was next in line for climbing into the hole. He was smaller than Levin, so he fit in just fine. He had no idea why he was still with this group, but he followed them anyway.

But... when he went into the hole, he didn't see anyone. He was walking on water. Endless water. There was no land in sight.

"Where..."

He ran forward, unaware of what to do. He was lost, and couldn't find the way.

The sounds of crashing water followed Leon. He gulped and turned around to see a wave , so large it could drown the world. There was no running from it... he couldn't escape. But the wave never crushed him. He just fell under the water and never resurfaced. In fact, he fell so far he hit the bottom of the water. The crust of the planet.

It wasn't what it seemed though... there were trees growing all around him, houses as far as he could see... he was home. Well, he was in the town he was born in. It was submerged in the water completely.

"What is this... is this the future...?" Leon asked himself, unsure about all the questions running through his head.

Great, now you're into bestiality, Keiji?

Inerus

Something is not right... Inerus thought as he entered.

"Hello, dear," his wife greeted as he entered. "I have your dinner ready."

"Your?" Inerus repeated. His wife nodded. Turning to the ceiling, he calmly said, "An illusion...a form of the thing called magic. How does one get out of this illusion? I know it is not real." He watched as it slowly melted.

"When it has no more power over you."

Cadra

Her memories began playing themselves in her mind, knowing what was going to happen as she watched the two men knock on the door to what was once her house. Feeling as if she grew heavier with each step, Cadra struggled as she forced herself over.

"Yes?" she heard her mother ask as she opened the doorway. "Oh, it's you two. We're just starting dinner. Care to join?"

"That would be kind of you," one of the men remarked, stepping inside. As both entered, Cadra did, too, following.

"What brings you here?" her dad asked, just as a younger Cadra took her seat at the dinner table.

"We would like to talk...about your swift rise in the government."

"Ah, of course. I knew this would bring curiosity...I will be glad to explain."

Vall

"So, one's out, hm?" Vall wondered. He lay on his back, looking to the skies. Garhara growled beside him, and he sighed. "I'm not asleep, boy, don't worry. Just... gazing." He muttered. The wolf lay on its back like Vall did, and he nearly chuckled; but didn't so much as a slight flicker of the lips cross his face.

"Laughing internally, are we?" A voice said in his mind.

"..."

"That's fine. It's good to know you're regaining your old self, Vall"

"Why?"

"Because... I've lied to you this whole time. Made you do things that were possibly unnecessary."

"So?"

"So? You don't want to feel again?"

"Not particularly."

"Why not?"

"I have no need for feelings."

"Worry is not a feeling?"

"Useless feelings."

"Like what?"

"Joy. Memories."

"I see I've done more damage to you than I thought."

"Perhaps. However, Master, it was my choice to give up these feelings for power. And with just a little more time I could have..."

"I made a promise to Inerus, I'm going to keep it."

"Since when do demons make promises?"

Vall felt a sharp zap in his mind. His Master, after all, did share his body still. If only partially. He sat straight up, rubbing his temples.

Then he heard footsteps. Sort of heavy. From where? The pain dulled his senses a little.

OOC: Just erm... gonna keep myself busy while I wait. >_>.

Levin

Levin couldn't see anyone. They had all disappeared, as he was left alone in this dark cave. He couldn't see anything. He drew his longsword and began to cautiously move forward. It got brighter and brighter as he moved forward, until eventually the light was so bright it was overwhelming. Levin covered his eyes and moved forward regardless. The light eventually died down, and he found himself in a small bedroom. A woman with long, light blue hair was lying in the bed with her eyes closed as a man with dark blue hair stood over her, almost crying.

Levin didn't know why a room like this would be in such a place. He slowly crept out of the room trying not to be noticed, but he had the feeling that he couldn't be seen. This was the worst feeling he has felt in his whole life. He ran outside this house to see a girl with light blue hair like that woman lying in that bed. Levin guessed that this girl was the daughter of that woman.

Just to be sure...

"Excuse me," Levin asked, moving closer to the girl. She didn't look at him, or even turn her head in his direction.

"What's going on?" Levin asked himself. The man came out of his house and moved slowly toward his daughter.

"Sielne... your mother..."

That was all Levin heard him say. After that last word came out of his mouth, Levin was standing on top of the clouds. He was afraid of moving, for fear that he might fall through them at any second.

"Levin."

He whipped around by reflex. Who had said his name? Nobody was there.

"What do you want?!" Levin shouted at nothing. "Where am I?!"

He started to run, but he was stopped by a man standing in his path. He wore gray armor, and had light icy blue hair that came down to his shoulders.

"You... I know you. You're... me?"

The man shook his head, and stared at Levin with a kind, yet sharp gaze.

He drew his sword and tossed it to Levin. It stuck into the clouds in front of Levin with the handle sitting right by Levin's hand. He grabbed it, and realized his own blade was gone. Out of its sheathe.

But the sword this man had thrown to him fit in the sheathe perfectly. In fact, other than the hilt and designs on the blade, it was exactly the same as his own sword.

"Fly," the man said. With no warning, Levin fell through the clouds and plummeted toward the planet.

"What?!" Levin shouted, falling faster and faster. There was a woman falling beside him. It was an older version of that girl he saw earlier outside of that house.

"Just spread your wings," she said. Levin realized she had angel wings on her back.

"I can't. How do I fly?" Levin asked.

"Spread your wings."
Farewell.

Cadra

"There will be no need to explain," one of the men said. "We've already done...extensive research on this matter. Your family's quick rise into the upper echelons of the democracy was a rather...intriguing subject. Bribes, assassinations, you got carried away with politics, it seems."

"I don't know what you're talking about! All I've done is-"

"No one rises that fast," the other interrupted, voice ice cold. "I am sorry, but this must be done, for the better of democracy." A flame appeared in his hand.

"But I swear! I haven't done anything! My latest election victory was just because of my policies, which I assure you, I intend to-" He never finished, for the fire was stuffed into his faced. Cadra's mother screamed. Her younger self ran straight for the door. Cadra herself watched, in slow, agonizing horror, as the two men approached her mother.

Why...father...why'd you want to win bad enough to cheat? And why...why didn't I do anything? Why? Why?

Levin pointed his body downward toward the ground, and spread his arms out to the side.

The faster he fell, the more he enjoyed this feeling. This couldn't be a dream... it was too real. Was this really happening?

Levin's body began to point horizontally above the ground. He could see and feel the large angel wings spreading from his back.

He flew forward, over the ocean. He felt so free. He let out one loud shout of excitement, as he did a backflip in the air. Now, he couldn't stop laughing. Levin had never felt his happy in his whole life.

He finally came out and asked the questions he had been dying to know. "What is going on, and who are you?"

"Now this is very curious." Having slipped into the hole last of all, Toremi had wisely decided to descend using her hoe. From high up in the air, she had seen all her friends landing safely on the ground, then . . . going comatose, apparently. She considered the possibility of a ground-creeping sort of paralysis gas, but quickly discarded the notion when she found herself absentmindedly flying into a tree. A very curious-looking tree. Glancing downwards once again, Toremi found to her surprise that the basement had somehow gotten itself covered in long grasses, and the walls having fallen away.

"Hmph. Huh?"

" . . . here today to mark the beginning of the punishment of the seraphim, Pyrumi Uyosan Yan Orikin . . . "

Toremi floated closer to the strange gathering atop the hill, hardly even caring that the grass apparently was blue in whatever dimension this was. An angel with a sword, the flat of the blade laid upon the head of a meekly bowing creature which Toremi didn't recognize.

"Until he has properly atoned for his sins, we hereby banish him to the mortal plane. Seek the woman you have wronged, Pyrumi, and become the guardian down to the seventy times seventh generation. Only then shall wrong be made right and the bloodline of the righteous Kegamichi family be restored."

Toremi let out a sharp gasp at this point, though none of the shining ones upon the hill took notice.

"And the prophecy made by the woman must come to pass. You shall not interfere, Pyrumi, and when the descendent is born, you shall aid her with all the power within your spirit. She shall be known, the one with no blood amongst the many, with the marking of the Fool, the Moon, and the Hanged Man. This is the will of Teleth, and we bind thee to it, oh holy beast. Do not despair. Go now, my brother."

With that, each of the angels shimmered in turn and vanished, leaving the dark creature to stand alone atop the hill. Toremi took a deep breath, then hovered out into view.

"Hi, Puyo."

The blue haired girl laugh. "Can't you realize it yourself? I thought you seemed smarter than that...what's going on is something I can't tell you. You have to figure out what this is yourself, or you'll be stuck in it forever until you die. But here's a hint: it's magical!" She did a backflip twice in the air before resuming talk. "And who I am...can't you put two and two together? I have wings, you have wings, that girl Cadra has wings, we share the same hair color even...isn't it obvious?"

Flying around him, she said, "Come on, guess! You should know who I am, right? Didn't your parents ever give you fairy tales, legends?" She frowned for a moment. "Hurry up, because we need to aid someone after."

"Two there was. Two shall they be. Brother and sister. Dusk and Dawn. Moon and Sun. Neither can exist without the other." The rasping voice said, but with every passing word, the voice's rasp became smoother, quieter.

A jar appeared before him. "An ointment for the eyes. It shall enable you to see past these illusions." There was a sound, like a bird taking flight, then he was alone again in the forest.

" . . . Toremi. Why are you in my dream?" The dark panther gazed at the blue-clad witch hovering before him, seemingly unperturbed by the fact that all sorts of time-space illusion-memory rules were being broken to pieces. "You're supposed to be having a delusion of your own, not invading mine."

She ignored him. "You never told me you were banished from heaven. And I knew there had to be a better reason than 'I felt like it' when Auntie told me you had been rumored to have been around our family for generations. Why didn't you ever say anything?"

The large cat answered with a shrug and a toss of his head. "You wouldn't have understood. You still don't, I'm betting. I'll explain everything when you actually need to know, which might take a very long time depending on the circumstances. But for now, I'm asking you to please exit from my dream. You have no idea how disturbing it is that you somehow managed to stumble in here." And before Toremi could say anything more, she found herself being blasted backwards through the air, forcibly ejected from the memory that Puyo had been reliving.

. . . The Fool, the Moon, and the Hanged Man. A traveler on a journey, living in a fantasy and yet able to penetrate the illusions of others. When she achieves the peace for which she longs, she shall be forced to make the sacrifice.

If we shadows have offended, think but this and all is mended;
That you have but slumber'd here, whilst these visions did appear . . .

Omen

He opened the jar, and smeared the ointment on. Instantly the forest melted away. "Much better."

What do you call Satan minus his past as an angel of the Lord?

Cadra

Cadra watched as the two men transformed into wolves, revealing that they were werebeasts. She couldn't turn away as she saw them sniff the corpses of her parents, letting out growls. Her eyes refused to blink as she watched them devour the dead bodies of her mother and father. Everything seemed to fall in slow motion.

"Fairy tales... legends. About what?" He asked, but before she could answer, it hit him. Cadra was a descendant of Sielne. Those angel wings were proof. Now Levin had angel wings, and he was staring into the face of an angel.

"Sielne... That's who you are." Levin wasn't sure who those other two men were, but he didn't exactly care right now.
Farewell.

"Yes, that's it!" Sielne said, spinning around in the air as she applauded him. "You're my...actually, I don't know your descent from me, but whatever it is, it'll make me feel old. So how about you just call me Aunt Sielne?" She continued, not waiting for an answer. "You know what this means, right? You and Cadra are related. In fact, cousins!

So naturally, we need to help her now...quickly, figure out what this thing you are trapped in is, and we can get out of here and help your cousin. By the way, do you still have the family's sword?"

"One thing at a time, please!"

Related to Cadra? Levin never expected that. But... this makes Levin a descendant of Sielne as well.

"Sielne," Levin started, ignoring the fact she told him to call her 'auntie.' "The family sword? This blade right here has been passed down to the oldest child in each generation of my family."

As for where they were, Levin was quite sure it was all just an illusion. However, he waited for what Sielne wanted with his sword.
Farewell.
