Legend has it that five hundred years ago, Teleth, the essence of all in the universe but the Archdemon's Hell, gave up on Avilas. Teleth forsook the position of God, preferring to govern Heaven. But he had a replacement...a girl rumored to have come from Avilas, the girl Lea. She became the new Goddess, her church spreading on Avilas. It grew, and so did the world, for it was rumored that before Lea's reign, Avilas was the only mortal land, and she created more, hidden from each other, when she came into power.

It is just a tale of how Lea came into power, for who really knows if there existed a Teleth beforehand? It was 500 years ago. Few laguz and elves wished to live that long, even though they could...and did the story really matter? Yet it seems real, for everyone Lea openly visited in her beginning years, seem to be people of high influence that seemed to know each other. Perhaps they had a journey together, something special...even the Weeping Sea became a peaceful place. The sea where none survived became a peaceful place, never having stormy waters...you can even hear two peaceful, happy voices in the sea. Who, no one knows, but Lea once left an answer during her visits.

"Visp and Faene." People laughed, knowing this had to be a joke. Visp and Faene were two figures that just tended to sprout up in fairy tales in times spread far out, such as the founding of Malisk and the First Holy War. Just fairytales, just myths, and Lea decided to say their names. But Teleth, Lea's coming into power, these were all myths, too, weren't they?

Land

Xenzin- The Holy Empire; it's days of power have fallen, declined, ever since Haushalt was formed. The leader of New Xenzin, Vike, left behind no children, apparently having lost his love before they married, named his heirs his two adopted children, who formed Xenzin's ruling bloodline. It is now weak and unstable. Recently, people were growing resistant against the holy rule and in favor of a country like Haushalt, so secular rebels took over. The whereabouts of the king or his daughter are unknown. Second least modern nation.

Eilfein- The Nation of Trade. It is controlled by a democracy, known for its powerful trade. Recently, though, they have been shaken by the appearance of the man Inerus, which adds further to the issues they have been receiving. In the past one hundred years, Eilfein has also declined in strength. Its citizens remain fine and safe, unlike in Xenzin, but the government in Eilfein has been reduced to political squabbles between politicians. Second most modern nation.

Vrenlac- The Kingdom of Armies. It's a simple monarchy, and is known for it's incredible, varied army of all types of soldiers, races, and strategies. It's in the west, in a mountainous, cold region. It has recently allied itself with Eilfein and Onduorn, in Onduorn's pure Avilas races, anti-everything else movement, supplying the army who is equipped by Eilfein when the country's not arguing with itself. Third most modern nation.

Onduorn- The Country of Diversity, entirely made up of forests. Here, all the races held power, the humans, elves, laguz, half-elves, and even the Branded. The five races formed a Council of Five (real inventive name, right?) to debate on issues and manage the government, each selecting a representative. They served as ambassadors to all other countries, trying to be diplomatic and spread peace. Recently, though, the elves and humans have taken over, creating a movement that is against anyone who isn't purely of one Avilas specimen (they don't consider half-elves, Branded, or even laguz pure). Reduced to war, recently. The Vale, the major half-elf colony, is once again hidden.

Haushalt- The New Hope. Two hundred years ago, there was a cruel king in Xenzin, that oppressed the citizens. Eventually, the people had enough, and planned a massive rebellion everywhere in Xenzin, in any city or town possible. The simultaneous chaos caused panic, and the army could only keep part of Xenzin under control. The rest surprisingly broke off to form the new nation of Haushalt, who's goal is to be diplomatic, uniting all other countries by solving international problems. This has led to various jokes, as Haushalt's boundaries divide all other countries from each other, but Haushalt, led by the Five Ambassadors, one per major city, is the strongest nation in Avilas now, with pioneers in technology, and a renaissance of artists and philosophers.

Other Important Geographical Stuffs

The Weeping Sea- The roughest, most difficult place to sail besides any land, making it so that there's been little contact between the merchants and soldiers of the two countries divided by it. That's how'd you describe it in the past. Now, it is a sea where no storm ever appears, not even the smallest raincloud. It weeps with happiness now, instead of rage.

River of Guim- It stretches all the way from Signas, through Onduorn, into Eilfein. It's used for trade into Eilfein, as going upstream isn't preferred by the merchants.

The Vale- The first, and probably safest, half-elf colony of Onduorn. Half-elves have slowly been grouping themselves together into small places, a dying out race anyway. They usually hide themselves in the thick forests of Onduorn. This was the first colony ever made. And most likely the last one to fall.

Races

You don't have to go completely by these races. Make your own if you want, though at least run it by me, first. Wirt, I'm counting werebeasts as laguz. I'm not even going to bother explaining the races except for special abilities if they have one. You should be able to recognize them.

Humans

Laguz- Have a human form, and an animal form.

Branded- Can transform into animals during extreme emotional distress

Elves- It should also be noted that elves have the ability to bond themselves with a certain part of nature. A plant, an animal, a tree, or if they're good enough, an entire mountain range. Then their life has an absolute connection with that thing, though it is EXTEMELY difficult.

When bonding, they connect an aspect of themself to that. Like, as long as that river is clear, your face will stay the same. But if it becomes polluted, your face looks worse than Ethaera's burned half. If the elf bonds his mind's peace to the breezes, it will remain calm and logical as long as the winds are fine.

The advantages? You can preserve a good part of you for a while, and severing isn't that hard. Bonding's the hard part. Bonding your life is almost impossible, though. You'll probably die halfway in the process, though.

Half-elves: A very small number can do the same as elves.

Spiritua- Angels from heaven that choose to be mortal on Avilas. Still have their angel powers, though they're harder to use.

Demons- Hell's entities.

Magic

Do whatever you want. But right now, there is...

Standard magic, which most people due.
Holy magic, which operates on praying to do the spell.
Kanji, which operates on activating written down runes. Blood or traces of magic are stronger than ink.

Elder Arts

There's three types of Elder Arts.

Ancients- With a longer incantation, certain materials, and in an area with "Dark Power" (it means an area where the boundaires between hell, heaven, and Avilas are thinl), you can invoke a stronger version of a standard magic or kanji magic. Just, more powerful, less restricted.

Dark Magic- essentially Holy Magic. But you must spill blood and give the name of a demon of Hell.

Demonic Empowering- it's like this world's version of summoning. When in a land of Dark Power, you must find a tree where you spill blood at. Write the name of the demon on the bark of the tree in blood and utter an incantation to summon a demon. You must offer something in return for its power. You can offer human flesh of its victims in return for it entering the mortal world whenever you summon it. You could also offer your emotions, your fears, total access to your mind, in return for having it inside of you, to invoke its abilities yourself.

Religion

There are three Afterlifes. Heaven, Hell, and the Spirit Realm. Heaven and Hell are simple enough. The Spirit Realm is for those who have neither done wicked nor done true good in their lives. There, it is a whole new world, that you will live in until you have done enough good or bad (sometimes, what seems like either will turn out to be the opposite) to be sent to either Heaven or Hell.

Heaven is under command of Teleth. Teleth is to be feared, respected, known, but not loved. Love is for Lea, the ruler of Avilas.

Hell is where the condemned are tortured for the amusement of the demons. There is also the Archdemon who leads all of Hell and is left alone by Teleth and Lea, though the latter says something is going on down there...

Guns

Yeah, you heard me. Guns! Guns are pretty simple. No rifles or anything like that, yet. Only handguns. Guns absorb part of your physical energy (which will eventually restore itself) and shoot it out in bullet form.

Don't know why that warranted it's own section, but yeah...

Seasons

The Avilas year is divided into the 13 months and 5 seasons. The year starts in Spring, then Summer, Autumn, Winter, and finally, the one month of Bending.

All the seasons are similar to what their name has been gotten from in real life. But Bending is the one month between Winter and Spring, where all natural laws are thrown out the window. Nature can come alive, peacefully or violently. An illusion can become real or explode in your face. The next time you drink water, it could taste like fried rice. It's an odd time, but everyone lives through it almost all the time.

Basically, Bending is plothole season. ^_^

Minor and sometimes moderate demons come up a bit more easily than they usually do. Spiritua usually remain the only ones unaffected by any of this.

History

Does anyone really want history?
