...Starting to practice drawing, since it's something I've wanted to learn for a while. Does anybody have any advice on how to get started?

First, work on copying things. Either draw like still lifes or copy actual drawings. Don't bother with shading or anything; just get outlines and lines. At this point, you're going to want an emphasis on shape rather than content.

1. get a pencil.
2. get a piece of paper.
3. put pencil to paper.
4. move pencil along paper.
5. ???
6. profit!

Hmm... thanks for the advice. A few months ago, I did try copying some of the character pictures from FE7, but I didn't practice much. I'll try working at it again and let you know how I'm doing in a while.

I recommend you try something simple first; Akira Toriyama's work is pretty good for copying.

...Forgive the stupid question, but who's Akira Toriyama?

Also, I meant that I was copying the actual pictures that are shown in the game, which are pretty small and not too complicated, not the official art.

Akira Toriyama is the creator of Dragonball. Basically, copy stuff from Dragonball, Dragonball Z(NOT DBGT), Blue Dragon, Dragon Quest, and the Chrono series.

EDIT: And Dr. Slump.

The ingame art is actually mildly elaborate; it's always best to start out simple, which was why I recommended Akira Toriyama. The point isn't to make it look like the original(which is your secondary goal, admittedly), it's to get you used to making the lines the way you want them. If you start out copying more complex stuff, you end up twisting your goal.

This is assuming you're basically starting from nothing, tho.

I am basically starting from nothing, yes... I'm absolutely horrible at drawing. I'll work at copying Akira Toriyama's work first, then. Thanks for the advice.
