What's your opinion on him and his crusade against violent video games? |
|
Some days I wonder if it was worth it. Then, I realize, looking at the sky, that nothing is worth it. After all, what is worth? Worth is nothing. A mere word, invented by humans to signify that we think that we are important, too. We aren't. Then, as I think, I hear a voice calling to me. It calls my name. I walk towards the voice, heedless of my actions. After all, it doesn't matter. It isn't worth the safety. Nothing is worth anything. Walking, I see a man by a fire. He beckons for me to sit. I sit. And he asks me, "Why did you come?" I answer, "Staying there wasn't worth it, as nothing is worth anything." He replies, "If staying there wasn't worth it, and you came here, does not that mean that it was worth it to come here? Begone, you, and think more on the true meaning of life." I wake up the next morning, still in the field, on the ground. I stand. For it is worth it to stand. | |

Off topic a bit: I wonder if LotE is gonna get sued, seeing as Jacky-boy googles his name everyday to see who is "harrassing" him. On topic: You would be a great example, if you weren't naturally like that. |

Okay, maybe that's a false accusation. But I wouldn't doubt it. <_<;; I think that video games cause plenty of violence. Especially when lawyers who know nothing about them launch crusades against them, trying to b7 them from the world. That makes me violent. Like, STAB j00 DED! violent. |

Yes But alot of other things do, there's no point in taking away anything that influences people. Maybe if parents taught their kids what to not look up to... |

True. But violence is everywhere. Ol' jack lead a campaign against the game Bully once. The funny thing is, the stuff in the game happens in schools. I mean, that's what the game is based off of, real life. Parents should be more responsible, but to a certain degree. |

http://www.usc.edu/uscnews/stories/13531.html Games don't cause violence after all. O: Note the last comment at the end-- people tend to ignore the results of the researcher's experiments. |

Jack Thompson is a total idiot. He makes me laugh. And do videogames make someone homicidal or violent? Not necesarily. I played Resident Evil 2 when I was 10, I was scared as hell, but I liked the game, and did I grab a gun and killed some hobo dude saying he was a zombie? No. What I have always thought is that, because when a young person kills someone, they almost always have a like for videogames. If the game truly made him/her homicidal, then he/she is severely mentally weak. Of course, that's why the games always have the ratings, but many kids tend to like the M games, and they dislike the T or E games because they're for kiddies(COME ON, YOU'RE FRIGGIN! 13 YEARS OLD!), and unless they see boobies or some badass dude with a gun in his hand and a hot girl in his other hand, he will buy it, but they win't sell the game to him. And then they convince their parents in buying them the games, and before the parents would buy it without even knowing, and then when they arrive home and see what the game is about, get possibly shocked, ending up in mothers complaining to the stores that sell the games. Then the older gamers have to bear with douchebags like Tack Jhompson because of the fact. The only thing that can be made is: The parents must know about the game their children are playing, acoording to the kid's mentallity and the parents' morale, and if the parents are conservative, the road is gonna be more bumpy, but they're making this for the good of their kid, the kid will someday be old enough to buy a mature game in his/her own. When I have kids, I'll buy them E or T games at the start, and when I see they have mentally matured enough, showed them the ropes, I'll let them play M games. |

Nonono, you misunderstand. A random hobo dood, and the killerx0r called him a zombie. The random hobo dood didn't run around saying he was a zombie, he was just some random hobo dood. |
