FMA is also my favorite anime! However, the part where Al climbs out from inside the armor is actually from the movie. Just though I'd mention that.

So in the end (at least, the end of one of the movies) Al gets his body back? What about Eds limbs? I thought they were some of the reason why he didn't need a circle to use Alchemy... Heh, I was never hugely clear on some of the reasonings and whatnot of this show >XD |

I don't think so, it might just be a talent that he had, just never had a chance to use it. If you look at his arm, there were no alchemic marks on it, and he was surprised the first time he clapped and transmuted. |

I'm pretty sure it's because when 'the door' to the other side took his arm and leg, in return he gained a vast amount of knowledge for it. I remember one episode Ed explained what happen, and about after he had that experience, everything in alchemy just clicked. And yeah, Al gets his body back. It was weird because Ed traded the past 5 years or so (The entirety of the show) for Al's body, meaaning Al came back as a little kid with no memory of what happened. And Ed stayed on the other side of the door, a world that evolved without alchemy. I cried the last episode. xD (I was 12 I think) |

Oh, I think I did see that! Isn't Ed's dad on the other side? Or another version of his dad? Cause I think I remember them talking about it afterward, or something. Ed had a wooden arm and leg, too. |

Yes, in the last episode of the series. See below for more details.
Eh...he does...for a while. Here's what happens: (Highlight to read) The second to last episode ends with Ed being killed by Envy. In the next (and final) one, Al frantically revives him with the Philosopher's Stone (which is actually part of himself). Because of this, even though the transmutation was successful, Al's soul was taken into the Gate, since he used the Philosopher's Stone (himself) to balance the transmutation. Ed is then revived, only to learn that Al is gone. Ed then attempts to revive Al, in the same way he did the soul binding prior to the beginning of the series. This is slightly less successful, due to the fact that he had no Philosopher's Stone. Ed essentially used himself (with no Stone) as material, so he was taken into the Gate. Al was revived, but at the same age he was when his soul was first taken when they tried to revive their mother. He has no memories from that time to now. The rest of the episode is basically Al's voice summarizing outcome, after Mustang defeats Pride (losing an eye to Archer in the process). Ed does meet up with Hohenheim, who fits him with relatively good prosthetics (though no substitue for automail). That's the ending in a nutshell.
The reason that Ed didn't need a circle is because he saw the Gate. Anyone who sees the Gate does not need a transmutation circle. This is how Izumi knew that they tried to revive their mother.
Yes, indeed!
Nope, it's really him. Chances are, the other version of him has been dead for quite a while, though it never specifically says.
Ed had quite a few different arms/legs. There're the ones Winry makes, his immovable replacements when it gets destroyed and he isn't around to fix it, and the ones Hohenheim gives him on the other side of the gate. Hopefully that should clear a few things up. >:) |

So did Ed ever find out why his Father was on the other side and never around? I know their father (Ed and Al's, obviously) was researching the Philosopher's Stone. Which, by the way, is ironic. Ed hated his father so badly, but he wound up being a lot like him, I bet. Not just in his goals, but probably in attitude and such, too. There were so many great episodes in this series. Remember the woman who jumped from occupation to occupation and then wound up being a criminal? But Al thought she was a modern day Robin Hood? And she was an Alchemist, too?! >XD Greatness! |

Yes. He was hiding until Dante died, but he returned when he heard about Ed ans Al's journey. He was doing this because Dante could not make the Philospoher's Stone without him, and he wanted her to die.
Ed reconciles with his father in episode 49 (third to last). I won't spoil the details, but they do get along after that.
Yes! I love that episode. Also, for anyone who wants to, the FMA manga is well worth reading. I find it's plot much more...coherent. If only the anime followed the manga more... |

The Manga and the Anime are still somewhat similiar, are they not? After all, the first issue of the Manga has the Father preaching that he's the messenger of God, and he's really only got a Philosopher's stone. I remember that episode in the Anime, mainly because I remember Ed rattling off the ingredients to the human body. I wonder, is that true? Is that what a human's really composed of? |

To some extent, yes.
This is partially true, but only up to the point where Ed, Al, and Winry go to Rush Valley. After that, the plot bears no similarities to the anime plot. At that point, Winry stays there as an automail apprentice, and Ed and Al meet Ling (a manga-only character). Also, several laws of alchemy are different (and, in my opinion, more sensible) in the manga. For instance, homunculi are not failed human transmutations, but simply artificially created humans. They also die in a different manner. |

The episode for tonight... Ed and Al's father just came back to town! >=O *Is instantly glued face-first to the TV!* WOO! Heh... He's kinda screwed, he doesn't have a home anymore... I noticed the beginning is different, too. Is this the beginning of season 2 or something? |

Actually, it's the beginning of season four. Seasons 1-3 all use the opening for season two. Something about Funimation making a deal with L'arc en Ciel (the band that sings the season two opening). And yeah, that's a good episode. Well, actually they all are, in my opinion.
