First of please by civil. Also please try to back your statements. Now from my studies of history and science. When you come down to the very basics, the root of it all. It seems that religion is a creation of man to control man. Monarchs used it to affirm their rule by claiming divinity. Bishops and other priests use it to gain influence, followers, power. I might even extend this to the pope. As well Religion is a philosophy that seeks to explain the unknown by saying it is created divinely. Greeks and Zeus creating thunderbolts, Christians saying God made the world in X amount of days. Science is not able to refute these claims and provide a reasonable basis. With evidence from geology to meteorology. The church has always been backwards and resistant to change, they tortured Galileo for one, and he was right the Earth goes around the sun. Which brings me to the point that with our science and knowledge of the world, religion is not necessary anymore to explain what we don't know. Religion has been proved false many times and continued belief in it's systems is logical fallacy. Religion fights back politically again as I said above it's about power and influence. They don't want to lose it, that's why they want to reintroduce creationism in school because there are more Atheists, Scientists he turn away from the church. One last need to remove religion, is that it causes war. You can see in the Middle-East, you can have a good life and be a martyr by blowing up your religious enemies with suicide bombs. Religious people also see their own religion as right and they'll kill others to make them believe. I don't think it's really tolerable for people who believe in something with no basis to boast their religion is right. Really is this kind of ignorance worth it? All the Killing in the middle-east, pestering others to join some communion, viewing others as clueless. Lastly I found his youtube video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMi_nTGF2R0 Any thoughts? |
