Livonia Public Schools has found uses for three of seven buildings it closed after enrollment continued to drop. Neighboring districts Redford Union will rent one for an Adolescent Day Treatment Center, while Plymouth-Canton will rent another to house students while it renovates an elementary school. The third will house overflow high school students and a Japanese day care center.

Which school is housing the Treatment Center?

I know Washington is used by P/C.

I know McKinley has the overflow high school students. Interesting FHS had hundreds less in enrollment in 05-06 school year compared to SHS and CHS...now they're overflowing?

Also, Franklin is housing some of the Franklin Transition Program students classes at McKinley. I thought the reason they moved from Churchill was because there was more room for them at Franklin?
Who really knows?? Not me.

Nankin Mills is now housing the Wayne County RESA sponsored adolescent day treatment center which is sub- contracted to the Reford Union School District. It is called the Kassleman Center and has numerous rooms set up for all types of "care" as required by the program ( close to what would be described as a mental hospital )

McKinley is also housing overflow AP courses for Franklin that should be, and were previously housed within Franklin.

Nothing is as it seems, or as it was presented by the District and BOE at the time of voting on, or implementation of the LIe.

There is nothing that was distributed to the public that would have disclosed what they were planning on doing, and what they have done.

The Japenese Preschool use to be at Roosevelt, so that cannot be considered "new income". But who would know that, except some parents who have kids at Roosevelt. :ph43r:

Wasn't the Day Treatment Center housed at the old Johnson/new Rosedale? That wouldn't be new income, either.

The Kassleman Center at Nankin used to be at Johnson.....I mean New Rosedale. It's not new money either.
Also, Washington is only rented for 1 year, while P/C renovates one of their elementary schools.
I have a co-worker that has a kid at the old Washington and compared to the P/C school, he thinks its great.
Just the BOE blowing more smoke.

Bingo!!!!!!!!...you're all catching on!

Keep thinking like that and you will discover there is no "new income" from the closure of all these schools...only expenditures.
