Laura Toy unseated by Glenn Anderson The endorsement by Scheel was bad enough, endorsing Proposal 5 probably sealed the coffin. |

Notice how accurate these polls are and have been on Livonia Neighbors. They were dead on when it came to the Proposals. |

MEA Voice Today — November 8, 2006 Election victory for Granholm; Prop 5 defeated, Prop 2 approved Michigan voters re-elected Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm Tuesday, in the most expensive gubernatorial race in state history. Meanwhile, voters rejected Proposal 5, the Educational Funding Guarantee. The measure would have guaranteed annual increases for public education. Without the funding, the viability of Michigan's entire K-16 public education system is at risk. Voters approved Proposal 2, a constitutional amendment to ban affirmative action that will immediately eliminate opportunities for women and minorities to have equal access to jobs, education and contracts. wasn't quite sure where correct placement was for this..interesting comment by the MEA re. opportunities for women and minorities. I'm hoping the prop will make it an even playing field where... ...one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. ...my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. thank you MLK |
