From what I hear at least Steve saw the error he made even if his constituents can't. If you had so much evidence you should have provided it to him. And my question still remains --- if there was an impropriety, then why did he vote yes to accept the audit? I guess that is the hard question. |

I liked the quote the audience speaker said about measuring twice and cutting once, how appropos it would have been for LPS to have used that same thought process. Too bad LPS didn't even measure ONCE yet cut seven times. |

----------------------------------------------------------------- EAST DETROIT SCHOOLS' ACCOUNTANTS FAILED TO REPORT EMBEZZLEMENT SCHEME ----------------------------------------------------------------- DETROIT, Mich. — A Grand Rapids-based accounting firm has uncovered prior misconduct by the auditing firm employed by East Detroit Public Schools, giving investigators a clue into the embezzlement scheme that plagued the district in the mid 1990s. The report says that the district's former auditors did not report or refused to report mismanagement and misallocation of district funds when auditing the district. "Plante & Moran, LLP is responsible for allowing the financial losses suffered by the East Detroit Public Schools to continue due to withholding pertinent information from the Board of Education and the public stakeholders," says the report. Several active and former board members are awaiting trial due to their participation in the scheme to embezzle district money. _______ SOURCES: Detroit Free Press, "East Detroit schools audit found trouble," Sept. 9, 2003 http://www.freep.com/news/education/east9_20030909.htm Regardless, the question was certainly a valid one in my opinion after reading this article. |

The Harder question Mega is how you and the other LIe supporters along with the ENTIRE BOE AND OBSERVER NEWSPAPER, CONTINUE TO WALK AROUND WITH BLINDERS ON, and still cannot see what A MAJORITY OF THE COMMUNITY SAW in the Disaster known as the Legacy Initiative. THAT is the hard question. Guess what sheep... you 've been lead to slaughter. Oops. <_< (Nice knowing EWE )

That is a matter of opinion and I have no desire to discuss it on this blog. I obviously would be outnumbered right of the gate. Harp on Steve King --- that is an interesting opinion........I don't know why you would have a problem with me voicing my opinion during audience communication. Isn't that what it is for? |

Forget about what happened. What do you think of this report mega? |

If you review the tape Jimid you will see that Mr. King was insinuating that the representatives of Plante Moran were the ones that completed the East Detroit Schools Audit (not Eastpointe schools). It appeared from his actual dialog that his problem was with the Partner and the Manager, not just Plante Moran. King had no foundation, no basis and couldn't even state the year it happened. He was basing his fumble on a question he received on someone's cell phone on a break in the board meeting. When all is said and done, your group had one week to get him all the information he would have needed to properly question the auditors. If you paid attention to the Committee of the Whole meeting on October 9th, then you would have known that the audit was being placed on the agenda for the October 16th meeting. If you want the actual dialog from the board meeting, please pm or e-mail me and I will be happy to provide it to you. Maybe if you look at the actual dialog instead of going from memory you will understand where I am coming from. Those auditors are owed an apology for having their professionalism questioned without foundation. |

Great Mega, LPS is a train wreck in progress, and you want to argue about the color of the conductors hat! |

I'm harping on you because he asked a question, he didn't make an accusation. In turn, you make a false accusation. You must have missed the thread he was referring to that was started back in March, then revisited again. FACTS ARE FACTS, something LIe supporters continuously chose to ignore. When will you all realize the LIe is a trainwreck that so many of us predicted. How sad for the entire LPS community, especially for the kids and all of the staff that will have to be reduced next year. LIe = Financial Disaster http://z14.invisionfree.com/Hull_Neighbors...topic=1144&st=0 |
