Here is a link to Farmington Public Schools web site on active committees that involve and communicate with the citizens openly and honestly Farmington Public Schools Committees The information from thier pages ( below ) all have links to all of the the documents on thier pages - all of the information is included, open to the public and available to be reviewed at any time. They are also immediately kept up to date if there is any activity in any committee All of these committees appear to be commissioned by the Board of Ed, and run in a proper, orderly, organized fashion, with nothing held behind closed doors and no question of trust or integrity District: Committees Adult Education/Alternative Education District Student Achievement Team Meeting Notes - 10/23/06 Meeting Minutes - 8/28/06 Meeting Minutes - 9/25/06 Funding Budget Study High School Study High School Restructuring Meeting (pdf 85k) High School Study Restructuring Presentation (pdf 268k) High School Restructuring Minutes Meeting Notes - October 11, 2006 Meeting Notes - October 25, 2006 High School Trimester Question and Answers Additional High School Trimester Questions and Answers More Additional High School Trimester Questions and Answers Parent Forum on High School Restructuring Playback Schedule (pdf 11k) International Academy/IB Programs Instructional Services Consolidation Marketing and Fund Raising Meeting Minutes - 09/28/06 Meeting Minutes - 10/12/06 Middle School Restructuring Committee Agenda - 9/25/06 Agenda - 10/09/06 Agenda - 10/23/06 Meeting - 9/25/06 Meeting - 10/9/06 Meeting - 10/23/06 Middle School Redesign Noninstructional Services Meeting Minutes - 9/25/06 Property Sale/Lease and Building Usage Fees Meeting Minutes - 09/13/06 Meeting Minutes - 09/27/06 Meeting Minutes - 10/04/06 Transportation Meeting Minutes - 9/18/06 Meeting Minutes - 10/2/06 I would urge everyone to look at Board meeting agendas and minutes as posted on thier site also, very complete, informative, and most of all OPEN. Interesting minutes on the evaluation of the superintendant...also very complete and OPEN. Why can't LPS do the same? |

I think that a good start would be for them to admit the ACTUAL student loss, meaning the ACTUAL number lost not the much lower number they budgeted for. I don't know how any responsible member of the community could just let them slide on this. Supporters, why is it ok for LPS to keep this info. from the public? |

Most people don't know what is going on and we can thank our sorry Livonia Observer for contributing to that problem. I know many people who don't have kids and who only know what is going on because they read the Observer. The problem is that they don't realize that they are not getting the entire story from the paper. I think most citizens would be outraged if they knew the real story. I have often wondered how other districts handle their board meetings. Thank you, Grant1. You have confirmed my suspicions. It's a whole different ballgame than in Livonia. Unbelieveable! |

It's NOT OK and it's a bunch of BS that this sneaky, lying administration is constantly not giving the public honest answers. I am sick and tired of hearing how citizens have properly submitted FOIA's and are constantly given information they did not request or missing information requested in the FOIA. Furthermore, when they have been FOIA-ed for "copies" of actual documents, LPS does NOT provide them. They "recreate" pages in a manner making them difficult to interpret when we know these documents are available they way they were requested. I wonder why they keep hiding and safeguarding PUBLIC INFORMATION??? :ph43r: |

Also take a look at Novi's district website. Incredible amounts of info including TODAYS AGENDA!! http://www.novi.k12.mi.us/District/documen...s/Distdocs.aspx I though LPS was trying to implement a system more like Novi's. Novi has all of their info out for public display... LPS when you gonna catch up??? To quote Jerry Maguire... "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!" |

Perhaps their district actually paid attention to events that happened elsewhere and learned from others' apparent mistakes... what a revolutionary idea! |

Our district has their heads burried in the sand beyond belief! The ironic aspect is they are so self-rightous and in complete denial that the LIe is a HUGE FAILURE!!!
