We have just begun to fight!

I suggest that those of you that have questions and issues with this "survey" speak before the Board of Ed on Monday night and give them the details, also ask them why. The public needs to see the parents speak about this. It does not sound correct, authorized, ethical, and possibly not legal. What were they thinking?

My daughter just told me as she was walking out the door to go to School. I posted because I wanted to know if any other kids were surveyed. Sounds like this was done at Johnson.Maybe it will reach other schools in the next few days.who knows.I dont want to jump to any conclusions. |

I have asked several of my friends about the survey, no one has heard of it. It seems it has'nt been done at Riley...yet. |

They are probably doing this because they are going to have to acknowledge that they lost a huge amount of students due to the LI. They want to be able to point to this survey that says kids prefer the 5/6 schools over what they had (if, that is in fact what will happen). |

Yeah, and most kids would prefer to have their Halloween candy for lunch, but if it's not a good idea, it's not a good idea. What would be really funny is if the kids respond negatively to the survey. Either way, it's not a very scientific way to gather information. |

What timing!! And the survey is given the day of - or the day after their Halloween Daytime Concert where Fiona (alias their music teacher) is directing them and Shrek shows up and all the parents applauded their kids singing and kazooing. (I wonder if that's there instrumental instruction?) (The concert lasted 20 minutes, setup with arrival and departure of the couple hundred students took how long??) |

Here's my report: I called Roosevelt and left a message for Mrs. de Perro, the principal. She called back in a timely manner and told me--effectively--no survey at Roosevelt. She also made the effort to call Central Office to inquire about other schools. Their report to her....no survey!!! HMMMMMMM (I need to say that I was very happy w/Mrs. de Perro's response efforts.) But, obviously...something is amiss here. Who's the prinicpal at Johnson? Has anyone phoned there for an answer about this? This sort of thing is so unethical. To set kids up--potentially in conflict w/parents and home values...UNBELIEVABLE. Bad move, guys. I smell lawsuit. AK |

Johnson Co-Principals: Mrs. Linda Minsterman and Mr. Richard Steele. I have not asked my 6th grader yet if he took a survey. Sounds like it is 5th grade classes so far? Mrs. Dunton and Mrs. Raylean are both 5th grade. What about Mrs. Yee? Does anyone have a 6th grader that took this survey? |

O.K. this is interesting I spoke with the school and apparently this is a project from a middle schooler. The school agreed to participate with this childs survey. |

They shouldn't have. This sort of thing is inappropriate, especially in this climate. How in the world would a child understand gradespans and grade configurations--the expert papers on the topic? Ridiculous. Next, are they going to ask the kids if their parents voted for the Recall or had a sign on their lawn? Which teacher approved this "survey"? AK |

That's good to know - I suspected as much. Are all the teachers that participated in House 2? Obviously it was a Frost student. Perhaps they have a sibling at Johnson, or perhaps it was the suggestion of their parent, who wants actually wants the information for themself. Wouldn't that be creative! But I guess it's much easier to blame and make accusations toward the school system. |

I think that the school system has completely earned the suspicion that they get now and will get into the future. Don't you agree? |
