Rec Center; Swim lessons

Principal Posts: 108 Group: Members Member #250 Joined: December 29, 2005	Our children did swim lessons at the Rec Center when they were 3,4 and 5. We also utilized their summer program which uses outdoor pools in the community. Both were good programs.

I liked the outdoor better because it is 8 day in a 2 week period so I think the younger ones get more comfortable. It is also quieter than the indoor pools which gets very loud and can be distracting for some kids. You do have to depend on the weather though.

Principal Posts: 1,422 Group: Members Member #17 Joined: October 25, 2005	I've had my daughter in swim classes that meet once a week and then classes that meet 2 weeks, consecutively. The classes that meet 2 weeks straight by far have the most noticable improvement.

Principal Posts: 137 Group: Members Member #269 Joined: January 5, 2006	We have always taken ours to the Swim lessons put on at the Livonia High Schools. They have an adult instructor so it cuts out the lack of serious supervision that I have witnessed in some programs with high school kid teachers. Also they are inside, that was a key to me, not to be held hostage by the weather.
