Don't forget they have to find buyers before they can move. I drove down Osmus street by Tyler the other day. Unbelievable amount of For Sale signs. Seemed like every 8th house was FS. I can't imagine anyone with children would move into Livonia right now -- not with the controversy over the plan and the recall. Maybe in a few years when this plan or a different plan is established and in place will people consider Livonia a desirable place to move to. PS: a few months ago my friend sold her 3 BR ranch at Levan and Schoolcraft for $27,000 less then asking price!!! So, if you are selling, be prepared to "give it away." |

Even though this is a huge issue for us, I have a feeling that people moving into the city just want Livonia Schools, no matter what. My goodness, just look at the mess in Detroit! Houses haven't been moving in the whole state for quite awhile now. I know few familes that haven't been touched by unemployment or underemployment. Even with my technical degree and over 30 years in IT, I've been forced into unemployment and pay cuts since 2001. I'm just barely holding on to my house. |
