I think everyone will agree that there's a lot of mis information out there, so let's reference the LPS Website for the Q & A section about the LI. I find it most interesting that all along they (BOE) have stated some of the reasons for implimentation of the LI were due to over crowding of the Kindergartens and conbination classes. Let's look and see what they have to say on there brochure. http://www.livonia.k12.mi.us/demographic/i...out_master2.pdf Please check this link out on page 7. Also, please look @ the info on the 5/6 specials. Maybe we can make the BOE members remember what it is that they voted for! |

I just checked the sight out and here is what I found. How long will my child be on the bus? Answer: On a NORMAL traffic day the projected time is 40 minutes. So let's say my child gets out of school at 3:57? Do the math BOE, my child will be arriving home most likely after 4:30 on a NORMAL traffic day. Didn't someone on the BOE say the children would not be getting home later than 4:30? I took this info from the LPS website. Why do you get so upset when parents ask about the start and end times? You say one thing, and the site says another. Get it together....FOR THE KIDS SAKE!!!!!!!! |

I've been told the resdients in the grid area east of Wayne and south of Joy petitioned LPS to remain at CHS, not just for the two years following the proposed changes but permanently. Can someone verify that request? Is the Roosevelt area doing the same? Is that information in the LI info? |

Yes, the Nankin Mills neighborhood that is bordered by Farmington, Cowan, Wayne and Joy Rd/Ann Arbor Trail successfully petitioned to remain at Frost and CHS. |

Yes, I believe in the initial proposal Nankin Mills was closing and being moved to Emerson and Franklin. However, when the administration gave their proposal to the board Nankin Mills was still closing but they were changed to Frost (?) and Churchill. I believe I heard they indeed petitioned the board. I am not sure about official petitioning but the parents at Roosevelt tried to no avail to get the administration to even just give Riley which is right across 5 mile to which the students could walk. The adminstration would not budge. I seems unfair to the Roosevelt Community that there was no compromise given to them. |

I believe the only difference is that this Nankin Mill's neighborhood accounts for only 10-20% of the Nankin Mill's population. |

That neighborhood already goes to Frost and Churchill. It was originally going to change under the LI. Nankin is currently split between middle schools. There is only a small percentage of Nankin students that live in that area. That area will now go to Garfield as their elementary school. I don't live in that area but it makes sense since The other neighborhoods East of Wayne and west of Farmington all go to Johnson,Frost and Churchill in the LI. |

Farmington Rd though is not the dividing line for Frost and CHS. It is not as clear cut and obvious as 5 mile Rd. is! |

Does anyone have a copy of the original LI tape or CD. I know that they replayed it Monday after the BOE meeting. I really would like to watch it again. Can anyone PM if they do or if you know I can get a copy from the District. |
