He was giving info to people who wanted to get blue signs!!! Frankly, I'm a liitle sick of this board because people can not state an opinion without getting bashed. It seems to be your way or no way!!!!

If that was the case, deletion may have been the right thing to do. I trust your judgement.

There are other ways to obtain this information. The seller of these signs has made his name, number, e-mail public on the other forum and in the papers.

You didn't just delete one thread about it, you deleted three. Tell me why you felt you had to delete them, the first one certainly took lots of twists and turns before you deleted it, but it didn't contain any more "debate" than many other threads that still exist on this board. The other two you deleted simply gave instructions on how we may get a blue sign, to put next to the red one, and those were immediately deleted. I have also heard, that the person who posted this info had their posting priviledges revoked. Why is that? I have to assume that it is because you (or someone) disagreed with the idea of posting the signs. Yes it was wrong to delete these threads (especially the two posted by Derek) those were strictly informational. This is supposed to be an open forum, heavy handed moderation will simply send people away. This is of course just my opinion.

I don't know if anyone else had this experience, but I did! I was also asked, via PM, to provide a link for a certain post that was factual in nature before it would be posted. I gave the link and decided not to visit such a one-sided forum again. Therefore, I don't even know if it got posted.

If it was just a person's thoughts and feelings and they may have been different from other people's who are vocal, then I think we have to be careful... I didn't read it Jimid so it is hard to say. I do like what Derek has to say because he presents different objections. However, we all need to be sure to respect each other. I know I get nervous when I post differing positions and yet everyone is extremely kind to me and I don't really get attacked. So, I guess I have said absolutely nothing! I just hope Derek doesn't leave.

As for providing information that is considered "incorrect" by someone and then deleted--that concerns me very much also. Free speech is essential here--many perspectives must endure. But, yes, mean posts should be removed. And, if things are way off topic--removing is another concern. Most of the time, I agree Jimid w/you, and I always appreciate you opening up the discussion like this. That takes courage. AK

I believe that since you own this forum, whether you believe that or not...You may choose to post as you seem fit. I'm sure the newspapers receive numerous editorials that never make it to print (because of content, insinuations etc.). It is your discretion. As far as the blue signs go, I suggest we print red signs reading the same text that we support OUR KIDS in Livonia Schools! Why not contribute financially to the efforts to stop this drastic plan? The blue sign topic though appeared to be taking on its own life!

I would have liked to post that there was a blue sign and flyers in the staff lounge at Perrinville. The flyers encouraged staff to write to Observer and Leipa in support as well as how to purchase blue signs and send donations.
