I'm proud to say I did NOT vote this BOE in office. Yes, I did vote. I voted for change. This BOE was becoming too friendly with administration. If anyone was watching any of the meetings before the LI is was very obvious. There is no check and balance system with this BOE. I will vote for change, as I did in the past! |

Can't speak for FYI, but I did not vote for these school board members. If I had, I would still disagree with the LI. |

I was not in court today, so I will apologize up front in case my not being there has made me miss some of the facts. But from what I read in that News article, it sounds like the lawyer really dropped the ball on this one. Shouldn't more evidence have been presented at THIS hearing. Please tell me there was more to his argument than that. Also, many thanks to all of you who have worked so very hard on this! |

BTW, I read today the President Bush's approval rating is at an all time low. Do you think some of the people that voted him in are not happy him? Or do you think your only entitled to an opinion if you didn't vote for him?   Or do you think that your only entitled to an opinion if you did vote for him?   |

Give me a break. Don't roll over and take anything. Get out and vote. I see you didn't take the time to figure out what kind of BOE you had in place before you moved here. My point was the City of Livonia does not get a large turnout of voters for the BOE. We all just sat back and expected things to keep going on as usual. I find it ironic that people that didn't vote (not you specifically) are now up in arms. Bottom Line is We missed the Boat on this one. Get yourself nominated for the next elections maybe you can do a better job. |

i did vote for this board..........i can't say i have voted every election, but i have voted over the last few years. Obviously it takes something like this to get people to the polls from now on. i'm not saying not to fight for what you believe in.........don't put words in my mouth. I'm just saying that the BOE is doing the best they feel they can with what they have to work with now and in the future. I can't say I'm always in agreement or happy with what George Bush does in office, but I'm not moving to Europe. |

I have voted in the school board elections and if it were up to me, we would have some fresh faces who are open to working with the community. Hopefully we will have those fresh faces by the end of the year. The idea that one is not entitled to an opinion against the Legacy Inititive. if they did not vote does not sound very American to me. I am sure there are supporters who did not vote, but have an opionion. Should people vote? Yes, of course. But just because one did not, does not mean they are not entitled to an opinion. I don't think this community is going to heal with the current situation. This Legacy Inititive is like an open wound and the transition activities are salt in that wound. |

The people that live in the areas that LPS serves should be entitled to their opinion, as it is their children that will be affected by the changes. So.....whether you voted them in or not, you have a right to voice your opinion. Please don't insult the parents that just want what they feel is best for their children. Some people actually have a mind of their own and don't need other people (older elected officials without elementary aged students in LPS) telling them what's best for them and their families. My 2 cents!!! |

Maybe a change is needed, but i would be careful who you back. I've have read Steve King ran for various positions in the past and lost. Not sure why, but there is usually a reason. I personally have dealt with him regarding childrens sports at YMCA and was not impressed with what I saw and how he handled situations. |

Steve King will bring fresh ideas to the table. The main objective is to remove JAM. Out with the old and in with the new! |
