Pinnacle Internet Viewer CHS parents are able to access up-to-date reports on attendance, homework assignments, missing assignments, test/quiz grades and their child's current grade. A wonderful assistant for those parents who continue to take an active role in their child's education. Yes I know they're in high school... All information is arranged by class hour and is quite thorough! I would think the other high schools have something similar. Maybe? Maybe parents don't know about it...inquire at parent teacher conferences this Wednesday. ALSO Make sure you're on your high school's emailing list for info! CHS parents, the Pinnacle Internet Viewer has indeed been out there for several months. Last year a few teachers were using the grade and attendance program on the internet. Some tech and internet savvy teachers have created their own web site, and of course provide links from their school/staff web site. (You should know if one of your child's teacher does that.) As you have undoubtedly realized each teacher is different. Some teachers even access their LPS email in the evening! (From the quiet? of their homes.) Many teachers do indeed commit more than 40 hours per week! To access the info..parents need to know their student's id number and PIN number...PIN # is attainable from an assistant principal. Remember to inquire as to your child's PIN number at parent teacher conferences and bring a good book! March 8, 2006 P/T Conf. 1-4 6-8:30 No School of course and half day on Friday 3/10 with dismissal at 10:48am |

Correction regarding Pinnacle Internet Viewer It was first "sampled" in November. The CHS PTSA link has a summary of the meeting minutes. It appears a detailed explanation of the Pinnacle Viewer was heard at the February meeting. The parents will be able to get the PIN number from the assistant principal, I think you can do all that by email too, or at the P/T conf on Wednesday I'm sure it will make communication more efficient for teachers, parents and students. |

Mrs. M...thanks so much for the info. It is called Parent Internet Viewer. The program has only been in the pilot stage but my understanding is that they may be ready to roll-it out for everyone and will be promoting it at P/T conferences on Wednesday. I was able to log-in this morning and the program was easy and informative. Attendance, grades, missing assignments are all available with just a click
. I think this has the potential to be a fabulous tool for both parents and teachers. I hope it will eventually find its way to all schools but see it as being particularly useful for the middle schools/high schools as we all know that this is a time when many teens are struggling for independence and teachers are responsible for so many students, communication sometimes becomes more of a challenge. I encourage all parents at CHS to enroll in this program.
