We found it interesting that those who were in favor of LI either did not have kids currently attending Livonia Schools or were teachers in Livonia Schools.

Who made and paid for the buttons and signs for the supporters? They had the LPS logo on them! Was the PTSA involved in that? If so, it is another fraudulent use of our PTA money!

Niether the PTSA nor LPS paid for the buttons. They were made and paid for by volunteers. Just like yours.

By the way, What fraudulent use of your money?

I don't know about your PTA, but ours requires a membership vote before spending any money.

I havn't seen the buttons/signs close enought to tell if the LPS logo was used, but a prior post said it was.

Did LPS allow the use of thier logo? Is it open for use by all?

The BOE could continue school closing with K-6 plan that was proposed to them. The savings was just about the same with lower over all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, they wouldn't have a lot of P. O. people!!!!!!!

There's your answer.

I thought that if the judge stops this he stops anything that goes along with it. I see it as many teachers jobs will be cut at the cost of our childrens education.

If this plan is "in the best interest of the children", as the BOE has stated repeatedly, then why is saving teaching jobs the priority here? Sorry, cmic, this is not meant to offend you, please don't take it that way, but I think this is a vaild question.

Well the BOE has until the end of the day to open up the lines of communications and work on this. I would imagine they would have to do what they would need to do as far as cuts for next year. It's their choice in this matter isn't. They surely didn't hear what the majority of the community had to say did they? I personally approached Dr. Liepa as an individual to plead him to talk to the CFLF and work something out. I guess he is gambling that he's going to win. I guess we will find out tomorrow won't we.

It's not a question of the teaching jobs...those can be saved by virtue of reducing administrative overhead and negotiating contracts/services more wisely. We could save more teachers and facilities through sound management and efficiency gains rather than the LI.

Every PTA has Bylaws that state a vote must take place for things outside of the originally approved budget. To insinuate that PTA is missuing funds for materials to support the LI is ridiculous.

grant1-

I understand cut admin to save money, but on another thread everyone is for this program to check your students grades, tests etc. (at Churchill). What kind of help would the LPS have to hire to help these teachers input all this data. A teacher only has so many hours in a day to get everything done. With that being said, we cut admin. but hire more tech support. I don't understand.
