We found it interesting that those who were in favor of LI either did not have kids currently attending Livonia Schools or were teachers in Livonia Schools. |

Why? Their jobs and their kids are affected. They are more affected by this than any of us. It would seem that their opinons are very relevant. |

Why is it that we are only hearing from the teachers that are for the program. I ahve a friend who is not for the program a 2nd grade teacher but she won't sign the pettion her worgds not mine . I can't sign that even though I do not feel this is the way to go it is my job. I know teachers in the Jr high and hig school level that do not support this L. I either why can they not speak out or sign a pettion just curious. |

gr1. dont you think there would be some kind of retribution if the teachers stood up in front of the BOE and said I do not like this plan at all, you need listen to the citizens of livonia before you make your decision..Yea right! The teacher would probably end up with a pink slip eventually.. And also I know most of the middle school teachers are not in favor of this either... Kids are telling me teachers in middle scool hate this LI, they tell this to the kids but will not come forward to the BOE.I wonder why..... OH GR1 I sure hope you are helping out with our petitions and fundraising efforts and maybe donating some money while your at it.... |

What bothered me was the parents whose kids are grown standing up there and preaching about how our kids will adjust. They just think this is only about closing schools. No matter how many times people have said we can live with school closures but not grade configuration changes, huge schools and massive additional bussing all to save 1%!! It is not just about the building closures! They are only listening to half the story. What about that guy who went on and on about the awards the BOE has received? Who cares! That has nothing to do with the LI. That is good that we have an educated BOE but it is their actions and decisions that count. As for the teachers, I think it would very hard for teachers to stand up there and oppose the people that hired them. Much easier to stand up there and say you support them. This is a plan that drastically changes the nature of LPS -- a huge cost for a minimal savings. |

Yes- A Huge Cost For Minimal Savings! Why didn't we hear from the BOE why they had to rush into this? BECAUSE THERE ISN'T AN ANSWER. Except, someone said it was good stewardship to not wait another year. |
