A petitioner was told to leave the Busches parking lot on Saturday. I can see not be allowed in the store, but being removed from the parking lot well away from the store seems a little unfair. Maybe you would all like to call them and let them know how you feel? BUSCH'S 37083 SIX MILE ROAD LIVONIA, MI 48152 Phone: (734) 779-6100. |

Please read before making a decision! I just called and talked to one of the managers at Busch's. Her name is Chris and she is beside herself. The landlord that they rent from doesn't allow for anyone to solicit at the store. The Girl Scouts even have to stay outside. She is deeply troubled because Busch's has contributed thousands of dollars to Livonia Schools and to Stevenson in particular. She feels that this is not fair because they bend over backwards to give back to the community. She has offered to sit down with the leaders of both sides of the issue and try to hash this out because she is really upset. They want to remain neutral. She had no idea anyone was kicked off the premises. She said that if we were out on the sidewalk they wouldn't be able to do anything. I just wanted to mention this so that you have all the facts. Also, I would still encourage you to call so that they can see that the majority is US! Even if it is to say, "Hey, how can we contact the landlord to get permission." |

The rules regarding petitioners would be the same as strikers rules. Although the parking lot is open to the public, it is still privately owned and maintained. The store management would have a right to remove you from that property. We would be allowed on the sidewalk in front of their store regardless of their feelings on this issue. If you are on the sidewalk you must allow cars to get in and out of the driveway w/o any problems. I read today where we have approx. 2,000 signitures. OUTSTANDING !!! |

This is not very good publicity for Busch's as many people from Taylor, Hoover, Holmes and also Stevenson shop there. As I am a regular at Busch's I would HATE to have to do my shopping elsewhere. This seems to be coming more common, not allowing solicitations near stores. I thought it was horrible that Target would'nt let the Salvation Army put their kettles out at Christmas. As long as you are not bothering customers entering or leaving and being respectful I don't understand the problem. Being in the parking lot is well away from the entrances. |

Cklockner: Interesting that you would consider not shopping at Busch's because of their desire to remain neutral, and operate as a business. Isn't that the best solution for businesses? Has this really become a "if you're not with us, you're against us" ultimatum? What next? Would our children not be able to play together because you and I have different opinions? |

No one has given any ultimatums to fellow citizens or business owners. Where did you get that idea? |

I would like to add that if there were Pro Legacy people in the parking lot I would NOT have a problem with that. Its the parking lot not in the store. Funny how you pick tiny bits out of everyones post to criticize and then when someone responds to you its bashing? Interesting |

Most people here are not nasty at all. There are a few that like to come stir the pot, but most here are reasonable and intelligent people. Once you peel away the outside, you will find that inside everyone is just doing what they think is best for their kids.

With all due respect anothermom, according to the manager the pro Legacy people were threatening to not shop there and then I call asking for answers and she just didn't know what to do or how to please anyone. I actually felt bad for her. |

I love Busch's. They have good meat at reasonable prices. I would never tell anyone not to shop there. The parking lot has nothing to do with Busch's, right? There are many shops there. Who is the property manager? |
