Thank you!

I bought supplies for 1000, and I'm cranking them out as fast as I can.

I'm afaraid I am awfull when it comes to asking people to sign anything, so this is our way of donating to the cause.

I was actually approached by a woman after church last Sunday, because she saw my recall button, and asked where she could sign. Luckily, I had my petition with me, and I ended up with two additional signatures, which most likely would not have happened, had she not spotted my button. So... everyone, wear your button, and be proud of it, I am ;)

I think that's great what you are doing.

I think that it doesn't matter what you do to help, as long as you are helping in some way. Petition signing, bottle drives, attending the fundraisers, speaking out at the BOE meetings, even babysitting someone else's kids while they get signatures! It all helps.

Thank You

Another way to help is to attend a fundraiser. There are several events planned:

:) Little Caesers Pizza Kits for sale

:) Sunday, March 19, 12 - 3pm, Family Lunch at Corsi's

:) Friday, March 24, 6:30 - 9:00 pm, Lia Sophia Jewelry Sale at Mt. Hope Congregational Church

:) Sunday, March 26, 3:30 - 5:30pm, Family Bowling Event at Woodland Lanes

Go to CFLF for more information!

I am glad to hear this, because I am NOT good either at asking people to sign, but have helped in many other ways :D At times I feel like I am not doing much, but then again at least it is something..

I had only one person tell me they would like to sign the petition but due to their profession they couldn't. She indicated that she was a nurse practitioner. I didn't want to be insensitive and by asking why being a member of that profession would mean you couldn't sign a recall paper. But I've been curious ever since about what that could of meant? Anyone know or have any ideas? The only thing I could think of is if she was employed by St. Mary's, of which Liepa is now on the Board? Seems like a stretch but that's it.

Maybe she has family that works for LPS. I have filled almost 10 sets as of tonight. 9 out of 10 people want to sign. The huge majority have stories to go along with why they are fed up with our current BOE. WOW, I have learned the history of Livonia from another view. Two teachers were reluctant to sign, fearing teachers would lose jobs if these wacko cuts were not made. I explained that Livonia ranks near the bottom when it comes to the % of General Fund spending going towards "intructional costs". There is a list, but the big part of it includes teaching staff, computers, books, and para-pros. LPS is below 50% of spending going towards instructional expenses, what a shame.

Currently there is legislation, House Bill 4967, that will MANDATE a minimum of 65% of the G.F. budget be spent on instructional costs if passed. Well, the way LPS is configured currently, they will have a 15%+ reduction of FAT. 15% of $170 mil, would save us $25million/year. HOLY SMOKES!!! Can't LPS figure out how to save 1% now without closing 7 elementary schools? The answer is YES. The question is WHY are they pushing the bizzare 5-6 model? One can only imagine since the BOE has NEVER once provide one answer. This is too strange for me to believe the BOE has our childrens education as a firtst priority. NO WAY!

Any supporters reading this? Well, maybe this fact will make you think twice about thinking our BOE is so wonderful and is putting our children's education first. Wake up and smell the coffee, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, and possibly more, but not kids.

Holly has them for sale.

They should be out at the fund raisers, or any of the St. Marys meetings.

I also work in a health care profession and there is no reason "professionally" she could not sign a petition ( I did!!) That makes no sense, unless there is another reason she didn't want to disclose???

Just a thought, St Marys is planning on getting into Hull. Maybe they have told there people not to sign petitions.

We have found that if you always have a petition with you when you go somewhere... you can almost always find someone to sign it... One voter at a time the movement builds...
