First Hearing Date/ Lawsuit filed!; March 10th at Coleman A. Young Bldg.

I would never use my child as a wedge. I do not speak around her about my feelings with the LI. She does know that I"m trying to fight to stop the school closings, but nothing more. I didn't clearly express myself with my postings. I thought that maybe she could write the Judge and ask not to close her school. Nothing more, nothing less. So anyone who would like to come to verbal blows go for it. Sometimes I really just want to pack it in and move. Is this really worth all the work and with that I say HECK YES!! If anything I'm teaching my kids to fight for their beliefs. You did nothing wrong and I am glad we have people like you helping to fight the LI. We all explain to our kids what we must. My kids' school is slated to close under the LI also, so of course I cannot keep that a secret from them. They have heard from other kids and their teachers. I just tell them that I am doing what I can to try to make sure that the schools are the best they can be, that I hope their school doesn't close, but if it does, they will be fine. They are sad that their school may close, but they understand that I am looking at other schools so that we can decide which is best for them for next year and that they will do very well and will have new and old friends no matter where they go to school next year.

It is taking place because it has the possibility to save the city up to 1%. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!!!!! That's what the Legacy is all about. I would bet that there is a underlying motive to this, like some sort of personel interest. Maybe a new horse farm? Maybe new offices for the board? Maybe... someone will receive a kick back from a developer. OOPS, did I just say that?!!!

Attorney Mayer Morganroth filed the complaint at the Wayne County Circuit Court seeking an injunction, claiming the Dec. 5 vote by the school board to adopt the plan was "arbitrary and capricious." I merged these two topics everyone (Lawsuit Filed, and First hearing). Things were getting cluttered and confusing at the top of the board. Don't worry if things seem a bit muddled hear. First hearing date is set for March 10th at 9:00am at the Coleman A Young Building in Detroit. Judge John A Murphy was appointed to the case. I know the hearing is at the Coleman Young building, but I don't know what floor or room it is in, and the first post of this topic doesn't provide that information either. I'll just have to ask when I get there where Judge Murphy's courtroom is. Thanks.
